City lost £97m last season... in for FFP and New York City buying a random player from Man City for £50m. :D

Well we could already do that, Sheikh Mansour owns a team in Abu Dhabi :p

This team would just be marketing really. I guess a few young lads could go out on loan there also to get some experience.

The whole idea for the Sheikh buying us was to advertise Abu Dhabi. Apparently he now gets asked at meetings and conferences about City so it's nothing but good advertising for him and the country.

Should have been fined 11 weeks pay for missing 11 games. He is paid to play, or at least be available, for the club. Not surprising from Mario though, at first it was funny but now he's just coming across as a **** that's not nearly as good as he thinks he is. The fact Mancini often starts him ahead of Tevez, their best all-round striker, is laughable.

Hello football supporting gentlemen! Is there a random video thread in here or should I start a new thread? I stumbled across a new Christmas comedy sketch about footyball and thought you chaps might like it.

Fellaini got off lightly. Should have got 3 match bans for each offence.

That's ridiculous, but the FA don't seem to understand what a precedent is. What Fellaini and Barton did is identical and Barton got banned for what, 11 games? And this is after the FA made the number of times an offence was committed the justification to the different bans for Terry and Suarez.

How are these idiots in charge of the game?

I think they did about right with Fellaini. Nobody got hurt, just ban him for 3 games....Fine by me. I agree with Gary Neville, the headbutt was bad and should be punished, but the other two are just a part of football and nothing serious

I dunno, I didn't see the game nor the highlights but from what Nev showed on the MNF the third 'coming together' looked more than just part of football to me. Having said that if the ref said he saw that incident then there's nothing the FA could do retrospectively

I do understand the FA are in a tough position more than most people, if everything becomes available to be investigated post game.... then half the teams in the country will ask for them to look into a dozen incidents every single game, its just not feasable. But this "the ref has seen it, got it clearly wrong so we can't do anything" is also wrong.

Meh, while I advocate the video replay in game method and a limited number of challenges I think teams should probably be allowed to ask the FA to investigate a certain number of incidents a season so Stoke could ask them to look at the punch and it would overall what the ref did at the time. Ultimately even though the ref saw the punch and deemed it a foul, from his position he would likely have seen it as a shove, not a punch.

Maybe like their appeals system where people ask for an investigation to be petty over a nothing incident they can be fined or something, where players who appeal obvious bans often get an extra game ban for appealling and wasting time.

The last incident was a punch, and not part of football, and the middle incident wasn't "just football" anyway, at best its what football has INCORRECTLY become, where trying to headbutt someone causes them to back away which puts them at a disadvantage. It wasn't a powerful headbutt and not a particularly bad elbow(the second incident) but that doesn't make them part of football.

The ref seen the other two incidents and put them in his match report, the headbutt wasn't because he didn't see it so the FA can only punish that.

It's worrying the ref claims to have "seen" the other two incidents yet didn't even blow for a free kick, bit of a stitch up I think.

Well he did give a free kick for the punch, but I think from the middle of the pitch that would just have looked like a shove. The other one the lean backwards/headbutt and elbow he's "seen" but decided there was little in it.

But then I'm not a fan of a player attempting a headbutt, elbow, the other player moving out of the way of both therefore not getting caught.... so the ref decides its not a freekick/card. Ref's are just pathetic, what they've let happen in the penalty box, wrestling over marking, has also led to 5 years of the most ridiculously boring corners ever. We used to have players ALL making runs, trying out fancy corners, actually trying to score and grappling someone and throwing them to the ground was a penalty. For 5 years its been, one guy stands infront of the keeper and general do nasty things like step/stamp on feet and shove people around, and everyone stand in a huddle, wrestling, and the refs have done nothing.

If the ref's start dishing out penalties and red cards for elbows, shirt pulls, throwing people to the ground in the penalty box, within a few games, most players will completely stop it.
