Caerphilly Castle Ladies FC's brave face on 43-0 defeat.......sadly, it is not the first time they have been mauled this season, as they have also been on the wrong end of 36-0, 28-0 and 26-0 scorelines.

BBC

Welsh + women's football = potent combination!

Just seen this on another forum;
GK73lmH.jpg

Palermo have sacked Gasperini two games (1 draw, 1 loss) after he returned as manager and are going to bring back Sannino, who they sacked earlier this season! Zamparini must be the craziest man in football surely?

And people think Roman has no patience!

Just picked up some tickets for the England vs Austria U21 game at the Amex on the 25th. Can't go wrong for a tenner really. Monday night game.

Almost sold out...didn't realise U21 games were so popular!

Watford transfer embargo

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21829894

Watford have been placed under transfer embargo for a breach of Football League rules, but have escaped a points deduction and a fine.
Meanwhile, the club's former owner Laurence Bassini has been banned from football for three years.
The Hornets and Bassini, who sold the club in June, were charged in August for breaches of financial regulations.

Under the terms of their transfer embargo, Watford can sign players with prior permission from league officials.
The breaches have no connection to Watford's current owners the Pozzo family.

"It is clear from the decision of the Football Disciplinary Commission that the offences which the club has been found guilty of were committed by one or two individuals who are no longer associated with the club - and without the knowledge of the full board of the club,"
Obviously, I was hoping for a points deduction:(...this doesn't really mean anything.

Though as half of their squad(at least) is on loan, they will be leaving in the summer, so if they go up, they will have a real thread-bare squad to survive with. Depends on how many they are 'allowed' to sign.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/...er-on-loan-despite-Leonardo-Ulloa-s-fine-form

Brighton boss Gus Poyet remains in the hunt for a striker on loan despite Leonardo Ulloa's fine form.
Argentinian Ulloa is leading the line for the Seagulls in the absence of the injured Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins and with Ashley Barnes serving a lengthy suspension.
His two goals in Sunday's 3-0 win over derby rivals Crystal Palace took his tally to eight in 11 matches.
But Poyet said: "I have to because it's a big risk. Imagine if we do well in the next three or four games and then something happens to Leo.
"Then I'd have to get changed into my number 45 shirt, and we cannot take that risk."

DO IT GUS!!

Soo, Arsenal are now favourites to finish above Spurs according to the bookies. Arsenal have Reading (H), WBA (A) and Norwich (H) in their next 3 matches, Spurs have Swansea (A), Everton (H) and Chelsea (A). I have a feeling we will be above them after those games and still have a game in hand. Chelsea have a couple of easy games coming up so doubt we'll close the gap on them. It's amazing how close we are considering how awful we have been all season. Just realised we only have 2 less GD than Man City.

Carl Ikeme out for rest of the season after punching wall!

Wolverhampton Wanderers keeper Carl Ikeme may miss rest of season after breaking hand in 'dressing-room row'
Ikeme is understood to have had a heated bust-up with Saunders and punched the wall in a rage, following the calamitous own goal in Wolves' basement battle against Bristol City on Saturday.

Take heart Blackburn fans...you are not the only jokes in the league!

Actually....Saunders to Blackburn? I thought Wolves looked quite good for the first few games Saunders took over, but they have fallen apart since

Yes :p

Not sure how Madrid, Man United or Stoke supporters will view him once he's retired but he won't be remembered favourably by Liverpool or Newcastle supporters.

Hodgson should troll him by saying he's got a chance to get back in the England squad then give him boot cleaning duties :D

Personally I think it's a shame his career went the way it did, his career basically ended the minute he left Liverpool, who knows what he would have done these last 10 years or so had he just signed another contract with them?

He went from being on course to being England's all time record goal scorer to a journey man, given the ability he had once upon a time he should have made more of his career than he did.

He's more passionate about his horses than he is football.

He's done really well to get money from the likes of Man U and Stoke, who have basically paid for his name.

However, he certainly cost Newcastle the most. As soon as he was fit and realised we were going to be relegated he was away. Despite Newcastle still paying his wages during his lengthy time off

Real Madrid were only repaying the favour after woodgate :D
