The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

I played it yesterday and it was kinda fun - EA got greedy. If it had been a £10 expansion like BC2 Vietnam it would have sold well.

I don't understand why publishers are pushing DLC's anymore. Would make more sense for them to add mod tools (maps) and charge for customized content like CS. That would require removing all of the options we have today but I don't think that's a big deal.

EDIT: Wow their new DLC is not doing too well

Had a quick blast on bf4 with the 980ti last night. Much smoother running than it was with ski 780's. Didn't glance much at the fps in odd, but it felt great. Hopefully get on for an extended run later.

BF4 is/was one of the few games I really noticed the difference between SLI and a single GPU. Its never really ran very smooth on multi GPU even with tweaks.

Sometimes it was ok but quite often particularly after updating to newer drivers, performance was poor. Lots of stuttering. Gotta say though it scaled very nicely with sli. Certainly not missing the noise and high temps though. Even at 100% fan speed, this msi gaming edition Ti is much quieter than the wf 780's.

I always got close to or perfect scaling from 2 cards but unless I dropped the pre-rendered frames down (which decreased scaling by atleast 5%) it would stutter a lot.

Well it's official for me, anything over 80 Ping and I can't play for toffee.

Put 7 shells from a Saiga into someone yesterday and nothing, just danced around me and 1HK from an AKU12. No doubt he fired more bullets but with my poop VM connection it didn't show as that.

Not a happy bunny, BF4 + High Ping is a no go. GTAV is now borked.

Bad day...

I was struggling a bit with that ping as well, but got used to it after the second game.

TS was very busy, it's a shame it started to break up. Does the server have a BW limit? Or was a salty scrub DDOSing the server?

A funny old night really. Most of my kills came from LAVs last night as I couldn't get a tank in any round. Got a good run with the artillery on zavod, and mortar on lockers as well. Squeeze and I somehow managed to keep the OcUK winning streak going after you guys left.

I used to have VM Broadband, rubbish.

I was always suffering from rubberbanding on Battlefield. Have you run any ping tests to see how high your jitter and packet loss is?

You should also look at running a broadband monitor to see how many packets get lost, response time etc. It'll show you what hours are worst and how bad your broadband connection is.

Mine was absolutely abysmal. At the time it was due to the high amount of virginmedia users in my area.

Always got the right download speed which made it odd.
