But I'd rather see the soldier in front of me clearly, without the leaves rustling the tress, a far off bird fluttering his wings and a sun shaft reflecting off a pool of tranquility.

All the faff just gets in the way.
 
If you want to keep it easy to see enemies etc. but have a decent looking game, these are the settings that I would use:

texture quality & filtering, terrain quality and mesh set to ultra.

Everything else off/on low and just tweak the res. scale to what you want.
 
Agree with Tony here, what is the point in spending the extra when all you do is run it at PS4 quality.

I'm running mine with most bits at ultra and 150% res scaling, sitting at 120Hz without too many issues.

Think I've said the more crap on the screen the more crap to get in the way. And with my aim the way it is, I need all the help and as much less crap as I can.

If I'm playing GTAV I want to see all the goodness etc but the more basic the visuals the better for an fps in my opinion.

Just because your car can do 140mph doesn't mean you have to.

When it comes to FPS MP (especially semi-competitive) games, the less crap on your screen, the better.... every other game though... everything on max.

When **** is hitting the fan in BF 4, I have other things on my mind than how pretty the grass, bushes, trees etc. looks :p :D

When I played, I played on all low or off and I can say for sure that 300fps feels a lot smoother than 60-120fps.

Yup new toy arrived before 10, so took the opportunity to do a full clean of the computer.

Just getting the drivers and the free copy of 3DMark downloaded now and will run some tests. Easy to install though and it boosted to 1442 in heaven.

Sitting at a not to shabby 25C now and in heaven it topped out at 50C.

Me happy.

Pretty impressive load temps. Will be a very nice upgrade from a 780. Replaced my sli 780 setup for a single 980ti. So much cooler and quieter.
