The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

I know I was only on for one round last night, and joined with 500 tickets left, but what a result ;) Think we stormed that round on Zavod, was hard going though...they really wanted out back caps!

Going to re download this week. Just got back from holibobs and need to sort my work gear out.

Should be back on either Thursday or Friday.

I felt like smashing my mouse against the wall yesterday, and everyday I play. For some reason this game starts to anger me a lot

Going from being what I would say a decent player in the likes of 1.6 ect, playing for high rated teams winning loads of comps, to getting smashed to pieces every game is this... My blood pressure doesn't like it very much!:rolleyes:

The constant lag on all the servers last night was terrible, and we keep on ending up in farming servers to accommodate those who can not play on certain other servers, which I think leads to a lot of frustration.

Hopefully the double xp event will have finished this evening as that always seems to make the servers go a bit wonky.

It's a very different game, I'd be in the same boat if I went to play CSGO.

I feel like that after most games :(

I realised at work today one of the reasons why - there is a much bigger gap in the game between the point you've done enough to kill the other player from your perspective to the last point the server will allow the other player to kill you compared to other games like CS and COD, etc. hence all the trade kills, etc. in the original release version of the game and all they've done is try to mask that rather than fix the underlying cause.

I do think you are very correct, the way you can empty 15-30 bullets into a player ( yes with hit markers ), yet they can turn around 2 shots and we are both dead..

1.6 for example if you got the jump on a player you 80% of the time had them, hit reg/hit boxes was never really a question. ( well in regards to hit boxes we will leave CSS out of this ha )

lol yeah CSS hit boxes were a bit interesting.

Was thinking the same thing - if I come around a corner in CS or COD, etc. and get the jump on someone - quick few tap fired shots and they go down no ifs or buts 9 times out of 10 other than the odd time lag kicks in but in BF4 it very much doesn't happen like that and drives me up the wall.

Haha!! Well I think we make a good team and wouldn't touch a vehicle map solo as I wouldn't survive anywhere near as long - I simply don't command vehicles very well.

I think half the trick with BF4 is working with the same people each time to grow an understanding. On a noob server, it's not so much of an issue as our individual levels of skill tend to pull us through, but when we face farmers they often come in groups, and their vehicle tactics are well rehearsed.

The same is true of infantry squads working together to clear an area, knowing who's the one who likes to go point and that person knowing they're going to get cover and a revive if necessary rather than what often happens which is the split up and storm which often ends badly.

I'm still dying to see Smrtka and Fluphy play together in an infantry squad, I think they'd work extremely well together and both prefer infantry over vehicles, but they never seem to be on at the same time sadly.

anyone on tonight?

Of course ;)

Of course ;)

I just grab a game when the wife goes to bed at the minute :p

I don't mind vehicles but lack the patience required :D Much prefer run and gun which is basically all I do (and thats a mix of some good, some disastrous).

That farm(er) server was a PITA.

I should probably sort my headset out and get on discord makes it a lot easier :S

Urgh.

Just got my settings sorted, found my old user.cfg - might have to redo the sweetfx as the game looks washed out on vanilla.

My aim is shocking after this much time off, doesn't help that my mouse is still FUBAR.

If you find a decent SweetFX, fire it over please dude, just waited 5 hours for the flaming thing to download, so will try and jump on tonight.

Haz et al... Any DLC I need to download first? They're all gonna take about an hour each...

Just download them all tbh, depending on who plays they have to jump servers a fair amount so you can get caught out if you don't have a certain DLC installed.
