If its just a per server ban I wouldn't worry about it heh... I got kicked from a fair few just for killing the admin :S

Unfortunately it seems to have knocked me off a couple of servers I normally play so it's annoying

I missed the second page on their forum so didnt see him replying to the hijacker. Well he reccomends removing the ban so fingers crossed

Edit: Are you sure the metaban ban was actually lifted? metabans website is still reporting that they are running a backup job and a database change. I suspect the server's local cache of banned players was stale (If there is one that is).
