Yeah it's the right way round, no I'm not installing it to my toaster, although I think I'd have better luck...
Yeah I know it clips in from the inside, it just seems to cut off the USB for some reason.
 
Yeah I'm using the IO Shield that came with new motherboard, it's the only one I had anyway :p

Edit: I can get it in the PC right, it's then getting the motherboard to line up with it that's the problem.
 
I tend to make sure the IO shield fits properly over the ports before I put the shield into the case, just to make sure I've got all the annoying fingers of metal correctly placed.
 
Bloody hell!

Finally finished! As shatpank said, he did it, although I'm taking credit for putting the PSU in! Turns out the IO Shield wasn't wonky, the actual USB modules on the motherboard were... and the 770 was rather difficult to get in, such a tight squeeze!

Nexus, that was a possibility at one point :p
