I would personal avoid HC for now, normal may take longer to kill but is a lot more forgiving on mistakes. Having the Mini-map helps a lot to.

Try other maps as well.

Weapons wise swap out the muzzle break for the compensator, that will reduce the horizontal recoil instead of vertical. (Vertical is easier to counter by moving the mouse).

Also unless you are doing a lot of running and gunning change the Ergo grip for the Angled or stubby grip to reduce the muzzle climb and help with the accuracy of ranged fire.

Cheers, will give them a try

What other map do u guys suggest? I don't really like ones with loads of tanks rolling around

Paracel Storm is pretty decent since you can hide from the boats. You'll have to contend with helicopters though, but since the map is so spread out, it's usually not such a big problem.

I find Flood Zone to be the most annoying map due to the number of snipers that sit on the rooftop by "B".

Seriously considering angling for a refund now (yeah I know :S) - jumped in today and often the enemy shooting at me weren't being rendered if they were more than about 50m from me (sometimes I could make them flicker in and out of existance depending on camera angle) - sometimes only their weapon was being drawn with the player model invisible, sometimes the only way I knew they were there was because they were HVT tagged.

EA decided to reject my application for a Titanfall key, and that along with numerous issues has made me decide never to buy another EA title no matter how good it is.

This for me was a return to buying EA after dedicatedly sticking to not buying their games for ~7 years, guess it might be another 7 years before I even consider it again.

EDIT: To be fair EA has come a long way and I don't consider them entirely to blame here, the problems with BF4 are at a deep tech level way before EA would have shaped things, the only signs really of EA rushing things is the lack of a final balance pass before release. But still its been a horrendous experience all in all and I've not even had half the crashing problems that some people have.

You can get servers without any vehicles, but I think they are quite rare. You could also try Domination or TDM as they don't have vehicles. Maybe try playing as engineer, having a rocket launcher makes the tanks seem no where near as scary. (The starting launcher auto locks onto tanks if you can get the rocket close enough)

To be honest though vehicle combat is a big part of battlefield, if you really want to avoid it you should consider looking for a different game.

They obviously know what we say about them in TS! lol

I should be on later so will add u, cheers!

That will help, playing with like minded people makes the game more fun, my K/D would be utterly rubbish if they guys on TS didn't call out the approaching enemies.

i keep getting crashes, screen locks up and the sound loops. Since the last update. It works for a round or two then it will do this crash. Oddly nothing seems to stop it from happening again and again even a reboot. I just have to leave it for 20 mins or so....... confused

People at CQ247 are still playing BF4? o_0

Apart from lag, "netcode" and sound issues I don't have any issues with running the game with an old Phenom 6 core and GTX580.

"Netcode" problems I can't get my head around - ok its never amazing but sometimes I jump in and its fairly playable other times I jump in and its just all falling apart - pretty sure its not down to my connection or PC - or even the servers as I can jump from one server that I'm having problems on to another thats not even hosted by the same place and see the same problems sometimes though not always.

i.e. just now I tried to play - got into the server and for the first time had the issue where the gun doesn't appear for 10+ seconds after you spawn and from there on it was all downhill but I bet if I jumped on again in a couple of hours it'll be back to "normal". Despite hearing people complain about that problem a lot its the first time I've seen it in 200 hours of playing.

Likewise couple of days ago I got the problem where when you swap to secondary weapon and try to shoot instead of firing it swaps back to your primary weapon over and over - never had it before or since, despite some people complaining of it happening every other day. Not very clever when your main weapon is out of ammo.

Since swapping to a creative X-Fi all my sound issues have gone away but no one should have to keep swapping soundcards to get working sound in a AAA release.

Another issue that I had a lot though seems to have been solved (for now) with the latest patch was just walking on uneven terrain would result in a KIA way too often - I pretty much had to avoid the snowy area on lockers and the hills behind the D flag on transmission as I'd get 10 deaths a round just to that and I take my life in my hands every time I exit a helicopter regardless of how level it might seem to be.

TBH people should boycott any attempt at a competitive scene in the game - its a joke when the client update rate is dialup levels and so many random glitches can happen at any time for any reason.

half and half, the BF3 server is still very popular.

I am still persevering with BF4, rightly or wrongly

I saw that most had only played 20 ish hours, BF3 is still more fun.

I'd say 8vs8 is so much better than public, words cannot convey the difference but yes 5vs5 Dom is gash, blame fnatic for that
