Vague statement is vague. Trusted in what sense? Are they trusted on all new stories or some. Are they trusted to cover stories with "fairness" ?

Why is that?

It's really easy. The first case helps to stoke the right type of racial division. That is blacks vs whites were black people are the victims of white oppression. And they need the "white allies" to come save them (but that's a topic for another thread).
The second case is the wrong type of racial division. this is 2021 we can't have white people as the victims. Hence you exclude it from the article and ensure that people are not thinking about race when they are reading the article.

As a white man I've certainly become aware of my privilege since learning the nuances of thermodynamics and heat transfer.

If I see anybody fogging up a window I immediately apply a blast of high velocity cold air to nullify such bigotted behaviour. We must always be vigilant. Racism is everywhere (according to the BBC at least).

Same with lots of media companies these days, race is mentioned selectively depending on the narrative. The George Floyd arrest had nothing to do with race but it turned into a racial thing simply because the main cop happened to be white and Floyd black.

I don’t really feel the need to find any more examples. You’re right that they don’t mention the skin colour of the victims, if you care so much you could always ask the BBC why they don’t mention the race of the victims.

I think it’s a combination of both. A fair few of the regulars on here appear to be more concerned about the race of rapists and their victims than they are about the actual crimes before committed.
