The best starting 11 in the world, what's yours?

----------------------Buffon------------------

----Alves------Chiellini-------Vidic------Evra---

-------------------Mascherano-----------------

----------------Xavi----------Iniesta-----------

------Messi-------------------------Ronaldo----

----------------Ibrahimovic/Torres--------------

Honourable mentions to Casillas, Rio, Maicon, De Rossi, Toulalan, Senna, Essien, Lampard, Gerrard, Fabregas, Robinho, Ribery, Kaka, Villa, Benzema, Del Piero etc etc can't be bothered to list more ;)

My team is mainly based on what I've seen in the past year or so rather than who I think is the best player for each position :)

For the first time in my life I'm struggling to put together a team, and not in a good way either. Most of the players I've adored at one time or another (Maldini, Bergkamp, Zidane, Henry, Shevchenko, Adams, Vieira, Shearer, Overmars, Schmeichel etc) are either retired or past their best.

Henry is playing some amazing football at the moment, 12 in the league so far.

Maldini & Vieira looked awesome the other night, vieira especially.

christ,

Evra, ferdinand, Vidic, Alves
Messi, Scholes, Roy Keane ;), Ronaldo ............or Messi, Gerrard, Roy keane, Ronaldo
Rooney, Robinho

If i ever, EVER for some idiotic reason i had to replace roy keane i would have to put gerrard in there instead, but i think gerrard and scholes could clash ?, its a tough one, i might have to write off my future as a manager for united because of this tactical error! ****

Maldini was poor and Vieira played about 10 minutes.

Maldini played fine, Adriano's goal shouldnt have stood, he could'nt have done anything for the 2nd. The AC full backs failed to pick up the runs in behind them from the front two which created most of Inter's threats.

Vieira was probably the main reason Inter didnt concede in the last 15. He was outstanding to say the least! He broke AC's rythem and flow with the class he had in his hayday, was so happy for him. He should never have left the PL.

It will be interesting to see if Viera plays next week and if he can cope with the pace of a premiership team now

His brain/ foresight is undoubtedly as fast as ever so that might make up for the lack of speed in his legs

The Spanish league is streets and streets ahead in terms of entertainment value in my opinion. It's so great to watch the lower teams just attacking the likes of Barcelona/Real etc. The football is a joy to watch and it puts most Premiership games to shame, the last good Arsenal game I saw where the other team were interested in scoring was vs Man Utd (league game) which is quite tragic.

I dont think he will start but Football is a squad game now, if they can keep him fit then he will be v.important for them this year.
