The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

As opposed to it all being a staged managed theatrical event you mean!

Why do people watch this dross!

Thats like asking why the actor in a movie doesn't actually take the bullet as opposed to acting he got shot.

Both are forms of entertainment although wrestling does take more of a toll on the body than acting in movies ever will.

I hope JR and Jerry Lawler are commentating all the way through tonight. Hate the new main event commentry system as of late. Each match has different commentators depending on the brand

JR is great too, something quite funny about how excited he gets

"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY HE'S JUST BROKEN HIM IN HALF"

My personal favourite

"He's just whipped him like a government mule"

I got a bit of "warm-up" for tonight's action... :D

Why do people watch anything?

Its entertainment

I could question the purpose of 90% of the stuff on tv these days, but different people like different things

Hit the nail on the head there - I get these box office events free of charge due to my employers ;).

Wrestling certainly isn't my cup of tea but each to their own like you've said.

Must admit we've had a few friends round previously to enjoy the boxing matches they've had on the box office though :D

For the first time in 15 years, I'm not buying wrestlemania. The card is a damn right joke!

1 - A boxer that can't wrestle is the main attraction!
2 - Cena is in the main event, again!
3 - Another time wasting diva match! (no i'm not gay but there is a lot of good talent being left of the show because of this diva match)
4 - Hardly any build up to the the matches.. Remember rock/austin 2001? Now thats how you build up a main event!
5 - John Cena

I personally dont mind Cena, however I agree with you on number 4 as they seem to have lost the ability to build up a match anymore. It used to be that they were kept apart for weeks or only saw each other for a quick interferance in a match. So when they met it was like wow can't wait for this.

Kofi probably brings in the Jamaican viewers aswell, and hes a damn site more entertaining to watch, oh well

Kane is usually a pretty big ratings hit, hence why the attempt to retire him with the fake Kane failed miserably

Just never seen much in Chavo, his plots always seemed to revolve around living in Eddies shadow or hating Rey over Eddie, whether this is him being dull, or the script writers making him dull, i dont know

depends what the script writers were smoking at the time of writing, might move it to Kane as he makes an easier interim champ whilst they cook up another twisted plot, that and unlike chavo/cmpunk, its more feasible to see kane duke it out with the other large wrestlers like snitsky/khali/mark henry and as such have them in a more active role in wrestling other than "destroying" the smaller wrestlers on behalf of someone

he is also an easier wrestler to cross brand with in a large way and as such can bring ECW more air time on the raw and smackdown brands
