The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

The ring has got its usual canopy thing covering it, not only is it covering the ring area it is also holding the Hell in a Cell up there.

Already is. :p

Just gone back to the first post of this thread, Wrestlemania XIV! That time has flown by in no time.

lol, I went back to the first post as well to see what was being said. Its weird but I can remember things better when I think back to what wwe events where during that month.

If I think what matches were at wm2008, I start to remember other things going on in my life at that time. Its like when you listen to a song that reminds you of the past.

Just looked at the set and it reminds me of the 2008 one with the palm tree's. :/

Looks like they just copied and pasted it. I'd hate to be all theway at the top. Can't see anything.

Seen as it has now been posted on wwe.com...

I think it looks good! Pretty sweet that there will be people sitting behind the stage although like you say I don't think you will see too much sitting all the way back there! :p

Writing some predictions now...

Look at how big those tree's are around the ring. You can barely see the ring.

Good thing we have the best seat in the house... and some of us where planning on going to this last year. :p

Wonder what cell they will use. Hope they use the classic one.

My predictions with abit of a write up :D

John Cena vs The Rock

Probably the biggest match ever despite what has turned out to be pretty bad build up imo. (Although the last confrontation on RAW was great).
The ideal scenario here for me is Cena turning heel, The Rock gets the pinfall but Cena has the last word. It's a prime opportunity to do it on the biggest stage, Cena appears to be getting boo's off almost every man and his dog already and with this crowd going to be going nuts for The Rock it makes sense to me. I can't see many of the hardcore fans being happy with Cena going over.
On the other hand what if (or when) Rock disappears again completely after WM, where does that leave Cena after losing? No doubt he would fall straight back into the predictable old 'Super Cena' but with the addition of a loss to The Rock.

The Rock wins via pinfall

Undertaker vs Triple H

The best build to a Wrestlemania match this year bar-none. They've made a really convincing case for HHH to end the streak here via the in-ring confrontations and the video packages... but it isn't going to happen. The Streak extends to 20 - 0. Shawn Micheals as the referee made an interesting twist but I think that his role will end up simply calling it straight down the middle.
They could go really nuts and have the streak end via a screw job but I highly doubt that. :p

The Undertaker wins via pinfall

CM Punk vs Chris Jericho

First off CM Punk is awesome. He's been on a great roll since winning the Championship back at Survivor Series but I think that Jericho needs the win more here. When Y2J returned with his silent treatment it was great, had the crowd eating off the palm of his hand and then as soon as he started on the mic he simply drifted back into his old character.
Plus I think this feud has life in it beyond WM, except switch the roles and have Punk in chase mode again. Afterall the next PPV is back in Chicago!
I also think this match has the potential to steal the show.

Chris Jericho wins via some sneaky sneaky method

Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan

Of the four matches which have been mentioned as being the main attractions this is the one I'm least looking forward to. Whilst I think Bryan has been fantastic in his heel role I'm not bothered about his opponent Sheamus. He won the Royal Rumble but that doesn't seem to have been mentioned much or had much importance since. Infact I think the past 4 royal rumble winners have not gone on to win the Championship at Mania, I'm not expecting that to change tonight.

Daniel Bryan wins via interference from AJ

Cody Rhodes vs Big Show

Again I think that Cody Rhodes has been great in his current heel role, but the IC title doesn't mean a whole lot anymore. Big Show won't gain anything from having it other than he will become one of few who have won every single championship in the WWE. So based on that...

Big Show wins via pinfall

Kane vs Randy Orton

Orton needed to be on the WM card somehow, shame this was all they could come up with. But it is also a payday for Kane. I expect the crowd will be pretty quiet for this one! The story which they tacked onto this one is pretty garbage to say the least.

Randy Orton wins via pinfall

Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy

The purpose of this match is to pack as many on to the card as possible, I personally would rather have seen a Money in the Bank but still.

Team Johnny get the victory

Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and Eve

I don't even. Is it even possible for the Diva's division to be rebuilt now? Certainly won't be easy!

Whoever wins via pinfall after a dramatic 3 minute match

And that's it! My hands are now numb and I've gone partially blind writing all of that.
It has the potential to be a great mania, but I've thought this before and WWE haven't half screwed it up one way or another. It's also going to be interesting to see if any of the rumors which I've been reading play out. Should make for some exciting times ahead if they do! :D

Nice write up.

I think CM Punk/Y2J will put on a wrestling classic. some really poor filler matches to be honest. Orton/Kane looks good on paper but has had little to no build up. Show/cody also seems rushed. Have Sheamus/Daniel Bryan even had a build up? :S

I have beer, snacks, 52" plasma, lazy boy chair and tomorrow off work.

Nice right up man, don't agree with the above though so far ignoring his two MITB wins Punk has jobbed to both Mysterio & Orton, he's more than due a big Wrestlemania win and him retaining the wwe title will be HUGE for his career. I'll be sat watching the event with my Best in the World CM Punk T-Shirt on and if he loses I'm gonna be ****** :p

Oh and is Lesnar to the wwe confirmed or is it just another Lesnar/wwe rumour?
