The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

I was looking for that on the virgin tivo planner, has it been on over here yet?

I think it has been on sky already, but I watched it on youtube. Also got a photo of the stage setup so far...

(Spoiler incase anybody doesn't want to see it until sunday :p)

Not much of a spoiler as its not really set up much. I really like open roof wrestlemania's. Just seem more of a big event.

wait, is that supposed to be the cell? Why is it black?

Just my opinion but the above sounds terrible. Just saying.

Oh I see.

Anything would have been better than anther back and forth "I am better than you" promo between Rock/Cena.

Cena should have been in a match on raw and Rock should have cost him the match. Thats usually the best way to add more heat before a ppv. I think having it between HHH/Cena gives the opportunity to hype of two matches in one segment.

Theres been zero physicality between HHH/Taker and Rock/Cena building up to Raw. Very strange if you ask me. Not really the greatest of build ups this year. CM Punk/Y2J has been done ok I guess.

I guess theres no need to really put much effort in building up those matches as they stand on their own two feet and would draw no matter what.

LOL. Edge's new movie just hit selected cinema's last week but is now out to buy on Blu-ray/DVD.

Must be a right stinker. Will still watch it though. Jamie Kennedy is a hoot.

Whats the movie called?

Is Edge ever coming back to wrestle? i wasnt sure if his back injury was a work or not at the time

Edge has too many injuries to come back to wrestle full time.

He broke his neck back in 2003, I think it was 2003.

As many of you know, he had his spinal column fused several years ago after a severe neck injury. Recently, the pain got worse and he decided to tough it out past Wrestlemania and then see what his doctor said. He's been losing feeling in his arms, so the damage has gotten so severe that the doctor told him to retire, and he not to go along with it so he doesn't end up in a wheelchair

WWE Studios continues its trend! :D

And yeah, its a huge shame about Edge, he had such a great career ahead of him. But I'm so glad he's done the right thing and called it a day, rather than risk it and end up in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

I quite like the condemned and that first John Cena one. Granted they aren't masterpieces but they are enjoyable.

Yes, finally found a nice WWE thread. First of all, I love WWE! I don't care what people say about it being fake etc. I'm all for the entertainment, not watching semi naked mean beat each other up like uncivilised savages. Just leave us alone to enjoy it! :)

I pay £35 a month for Sky Go on my iPad just to watch WWE and the footy. I never used to have Sky as a kid because it was expensive so I never followed WWF. I only remember watching WWF when it was on ITV on Saturdays, and then I massively followed WCW on Five. My favourite wrestlers of all time are Goldberg and Booker T.

As a result, I missed most of the 'Attitude Era', so my whole WWE experience really started over a year ago. First favourite superstar was and still is John Cena. I took a liking to Faces at first, but now I'm more of a Heel fan. Randy Orton is soooo boring. Can guarantee every Smackdown finishes with an RKO. Bet he would make love to himself in the mirror if he could.

Can't wait for Wrestlemania. I'm rooting for John Cena because I find the Rock too cocky and he just won't shut up. Surely company wise the present and future superstars should overcome the past. The Rock should have stayed away from WWE but he just had to come back and steal Cena's title as the people's champion didn't he!

While I loved how CM Punk won the Championship at Chicago (entrance with the Killswitch Engage theme gave me goosebumps), again he just had to come back when he should have gone, and now I want Jericho to win that belt off him.

Kane to beat Randy Orton obviously. Beth Phoenix to Glam Slam Kelly Kelly to victory. Don't get me wrong, Kelly Kelly is beautiful, but I much prefer Beth and she has a cute voice. She's so much better wrestling wise. Triple H or Undertaker I don't really care about. Sheamus is the only Face I would want to win. Cody Rhodes I've grown on in the past few months, and I would like to see him as the future of WWE along with Dolph Ziggler. Finally, Team Teddy because they have some great personalities in there such as Santino Marella, R-Truth, Zack Ryder and Booker T of course.

Sorry for long post, but feels really good to find other WWE fans to share with. Pretty much everyone I tell I watch WWE go 'lol you saddo, thats fake and grow up!'.

:( You really think that? Man, you missed out on the best days in wrestling. You have no idea what you have missed. If you started watching wrestling during the mid 90's you'd be praising the lord that The Rock has come back.

Cena has never been "the people's champion." He is "the people's marmite" in the wwe.

Rock coming back has been the best thing in wrestling in years.

Left? CM Punk never left, that was just story line when he ran away with the belt. It was done so well, it was great. CM Punk is the top guy right now in wwe after John Cena.

Edge looks, um, different. Its weird watching wrestlers talk unscripted to each other and act out of charecter. You just get used to them being over the top.

Wonder why they have shafted the HOF this year? Usually they run promos weekly leading up to mania.

Mike Tyson
Yokozuna
Ron Simmons
Four Horsemen (Ric Flair to be there)
Mil Mascaras
Edge

Wonder when Sting will get a nod.

Hmm ok but I can't help when I watched wrestling and that has had a big influence on who I liked. So if I prefer Cena over the Rock, then that's the way it is. I want him to shut the Rock up, but I'm guessing even if he wins, he will receive a Rock Bottom at the end just to satisfy the Rock fans before he buggers off again. Everyone has their own view about what is the 'best' days of wrestling and usually it coincides with what they grew up with. I'm sure if we could have afforded Sky back then, my favourites would have been the Rock, Steve Austin, Triple H etc...

Yea I understand CM Punk had that written in and I guess it really did the job because it was written so well that I honestly thought he was leaving and that made me like him even more. Not a fan of his Cult of Personality song as his Fire Burns one though.

Cena is so dry on the mic, he was much better when he was a heel and acted like a wigger. :p I like Cena for who he is but he is so so bad right now. Its just the same old same old thing with Cena. He is boring now, they need to change him. Make him a heel for a while. It would be bigger than when Hogan turned heel. Don't see it happening though. WWE is set around Cena being their money making machine.

I have no problem with anyone liking Cena over The Rock... but you can't deny who is the better entertainer on the mic and in the ring... which leaves me confused as to why anyone would prefer Cena over The Rock. :p

CM Punk's music had to be changed. His old music was for his punk/metal charecter. His new music fits his controversial say what ever charecter.
