The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Amazing WM, one of the best ever. This mania really was a huge turning point in wwe with new talent. It was all about the new talent and not giving the show to the same old same old.

Taker looked done. Its time to accept that he can't go on forever. The look on peoples faces when he lost was priceless.

I really don't see what the problem is with Lesner ending it. If it was someone like Roman Reigns, then it would make sense as he hasn't done anything in the wwe yet. Pushing him like that would be an embarrassment.

Cena seriously needs to turn heel, he is so stale and boring now.

Its amazing how many people on forums I've seen running around saying that the ending in the undertaker match was botched. They just done a good job of selling it as a shock as everyone expected the streak to continue. If something had gone wrong McMahon or triple h would be out overruling the ref and restarting it, there's no way the streak would have accidentally ended in a worked "sport" as its one of the more hyped matches for the last lot of years. It ended how it was meant to, and they done a good job of making it seem a shock and that's all there is to it. Was the only stand out thing of this incredibly average ppv.

The biggest tell that it was a legit win for Lesnar was the three count, the ref didn't hesitate on the 3, so he knew this was the end of the match. I think the overly long period where undertaker was sat in the ring afterwards has made people think something didn't go to plan, but it was just to emphasise the gravity of what just happened.

I had no idea you could bet on WWE, I'd have definitely stuck £20 on Lesnar at those odds, this always looked to me like the most likely year it would happen.

Well, im 29, and after watching the end of the streak, I think its time to face facts. My childhood is over, lol.
In all seriousness tho, I probably wont watch WWE as much anymore. Not angry, or mad that the streak is over. I knew it would end eventually, but im quite overwhelmed by the rush of emotion im feeling, now that it's finally settling in. If im being honest though, im happy that Taker has chosen someone pass that torch on to. Im sure it was his decision to give the streak to Brock. Him and Brock go back quite a number of years, so its understandable.
Growing up, the only reason I ever really stayed interested in WWE was because of Undertaker, but now that he (seemingly) finished, there's probably not a lot left to keep me interested in WWE. I enjoy watching Roman Reigns, but thats about it...

taker was 1/33 and lesnar was 14/1 on betfair before the event. I couldn't even believe that you can actually bet on WWE!!

Some punter has claimed he put $35k on Taker to win - oooppppsss:eek:

I never even thought about betting on it, I could have made a fortune as I pretty much predicted all the matches right except the battle royal and the divas match. I would have stuck £50 on lesnar if I had seen those odds. Anyone know what the odds were on Bryan winning both his matches?

I personally enjoyed it. One of the best Ive seen.

I think they kept everything quite with Brocks music so you could here the crowd. No body would have expected it so makes every the more better. Brock to go against Bryan at summerslam maybe?

He says he wants the title and maybe this is what they were going to use to give him that push to challenge?

I never even thought about putting a cheeky bet on. Vince could make a fortune of skybet though ;)

Well thats over then - the streak is over. I am suprised but theres gotta be a deal worked with Brock now to have more appearances, it just seems weird to have a part timer take the streak.

Not a bad WM at all, Bryan was obvious but was nice to finally see them pay off after the run he's had. The Hogan, Rock and SCSA bit was memorable for the mess ups but also because it was so nice to see them all in the ring at the same time at WM.

I would like to thnk the only reason Taker put over Lesner was he knew his body just wasn't up to it anymore and looking at him last year and in this match it was clear it was a struggle for him to move around and put on the sort of performances we have become use to. In an ideal world he would won and maybe next year have a match with Cesaro or Regins and put them over.

the austin/hulk/rock bit was a total cringe

end of the streak was meh, not too fussed I mean he's getting on a bit now

really enjoyed the whole bryan scenario throughout the night. YES YES YES.

did u see his video when dave won the rumble or when rocky beat cm punk?

amazing.:D

He's like a whingy child in most of the videos he posted, obviously alotm of them are staged the wrestling rage ones being the most obvious. Its usually funny when he goes on a little tangent and starts raging jumping up and down stamping his feet nearly crying half the time, needs a slap if those are even remotely real.

Problem with Undertaker is he wrestles a handful of times a year and he gets blown up incredibly quickly in matches these days. yeah he's older and all but you'd think he would pace himself more. A few minutes into that match last night he looked as though he needed someone to hand him an oxygen mask, or as Jim Cornette would say he was sucking wind so hard the first 3 rows passed out from oxygen deprivation :p.

The end of the streak was a big surprise and it was played very well as everyone expected him to retire with it intact, hence the gobsmacked look on the faces of the fans. Whether a part timer was a good choice to lose it to or not is debatable.

And is it just me or is Lesnar incredibly sloppy with the f5? It used to resemble a spinning face plant, these days its like people just roll off his shoulders onto their sides.

He was 1/40 to beat HHH and 1/12 to win the ME.

Lesnar was 14/1 earlier in the day but shortened to 6/1, someone somewhere obviously knew more than they should!

Cena was 5/2 to beat Wyatt, The Shield were 1/10, the divas match (cant remember her name)) the 4/9 favourite won, and a 50/1 outsider won the Battle Royal. Rusev was 11/8, Show was 5/2, Sheamus 9/2, Miz 12/1 etc etc.
