The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

The blood was definitely deliberate. He's used his elbow like that on Cena in the past.

Not sure there was any need to keep attacking Orton though. Dull match.

Not sure how I feel about Balor as champion. Would rather see him chase it more. However as soon as we knew he was fighting as the demon he wasn't going to lose with that gimmick.

Apparently he may need surgery on his arm after Rollins powerbombed him into the barrier

Done a bit a Google searching and some interesting theories have come up. One is that Brock was deliberate after the promo where Orton took a shot at Brock for failing his UFC drug test. The second is that he went deliberate because Orton was being lazy and not selling, the example given was not assisting with the Suplex throws making Brock deadlift Randy the whole way. The last time I know of Brock supposedly doing this was against Bob Holly.

BIG BACKSTAGE ALTERCATION BETWEEN CHRIS JERICHO AND BROCK LESNAR AT WWE SUMMERSLAM

The ending to Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at WWE SummerSlam, which was pretty much as planned, led to an altercation between Lesnar and Chris Jericho backstage.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, multiple sources report that Jericho came to the gorilla position as the match ended, apparently to find out exactly what happened and to see if Orton was alright. Jericho was asked WWE producer Michael “PS” Hayes if that was the planned finish and Hayes wouldn’t respond. Jericho then said, “That’s ********.”
Jericho’s “********” comment came just as Lesnar was returning backstage. Lesnar, thinking Jericho was talking about the match, called Jericho a “pussy,” according to one version, or just said “shut up,” according to another version, and for Jericho to mind his own business. They came face to face and had words. One version of the story says they were shouting at each other the whole time.
Lesnar reportedly pushed Jericho with his fingers. Jericho then did what was described as the “Rousey-Tate” forehead press. Another version of the story said Jericho shoved Lesnar into the wall at one point. The two were then tangled up against the wall when Lesnar told Jericho to either punch him or kiss him. Triple H then jumped in and broke things up. The two went at it again but this time Vince McMahon broke it up. Jericho was then yelling about Lesnar and Vince told him that everything was a work, and to be professional.
Triple H reportedly told Vince that Lesnar started the fight, and that Jericho was just standing up for himself. No more words were exchanged but Jericho saw Orton’s condition and got mad. It was noted that Jericho was concerned with Orton’s health and safety, but Orton assured him that he knew what was going to happen.

Did wwe get some kind of massive discount on featuring incredibly **** looking world title belts on their show? They need to bring back the old WCW belt, it actually looked like a title instead of being just a gaudy looking wwe logo. Funny thing is the closeup of the "new" belt got booed heavily at Summerslam as did mention of it at the start of the match.

Yup

WWE has updated their announcement confirming the injury to WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor, who will relinquish his title on RAW tonight. As seen below, it looks like he could be out of action for 4-6 months.

Inaugural WWE Universal Champion Finn Bálor suffered an injury to his right shoulder against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam and will relinquish his title tonight on Raw as a result, WWE.com can confirm.

The injury came in the course of Bálor and Rollins’ match to determine which Superstar would become the first WWE Universal Champion, specifically when Bálor absorbed a running powerbomb to the barricade at the hands of The Architect.

“He hit the wall during the match, dislocated his shoulder and was able to put it back in himself in a split second,” said ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson. Bálor was able to finish the match, but Dr. Robinson noted that an MRI yielded results earlier today showing “a possible labrum tear.”

The champion is currently scheduled to receive a surgical consult that will determine the extent of Bálor’s injury and what his recovery time will be. If surgery and rehab are required, Robinson said, Bálor could be facing a recovery time of "anywhere from four to six months."

Raw General Manager Mick Foley tweeted that he and Commissioner Stephanie McMahon would "accept" Bálor’s forfeiture of his championship tonight on Raw.

Rollins causing yet another injury, breaks Cena's nose, ends Stings career and now Balors shoulder, that running powerbomb causing 2 of the injuries.

Yeah when I heard what happened I just rolled my eyes at the thought of Bret Hart being even more of a **** now and acting even more self-righteous. I don't honestly think Rollins is a dangerous worker, but evidence is mounting tbh.

Bret Hart seems incredibly bitter, just about every interview with him he seems like he doesn't want to be there and in general is on the moan all the time. I can't recall the last time i seen him laugh in an interview, just seems like he's still po'd about how his career ended so just rags on anyone he can to get attention in the wrestling community.

:D :D :D

I thought Smackdown was really excellent this week(didn't watch RAW). I like the new belts(really like the tag ones), Styles vs Ziggler was epic and Heath Slater is absolutely killing it! The Miz was great too:

One of the best promos I've ever seen(the actual bit is longer than that clip). Really on point. Almost on Austin 3:16 levels imo.

I like the new belts. I don't see why so many are in a huff about them, they're the same design but have been coloured to reflect each show. Red for Raw and Blue for Smackdown.

It's just an incredible lack of creativity. We now have 4 belts that share the exact same design with a colour swap. I never thought the WWE Championship design was all that great to begin with so having 4 of it isn't exactly what I wanted, same goes for the penny belts. I just really hope they don't redesign the US and Intercontinental belts, their designs have held up much better than these belts ever will.

I think they're trying to bring it in line with UFC and boxing, where all the belts are the same design. Makes them all equally (un)important I suppose.

Thing is though, this isn't UFC or Boxing. WWE can make a belt as worthless or as prestigious as they like as they have full control over what happens with the belt, they don't need them all to look the same to achieve that.

They're already mimicking other sports with that stupid little event center thing with Renee Young and assorted tools planted at their little table waffling about whats going on during ppv's.
