The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Meanwhile in the CWC, Kendrick busts out what is legit one of the more dangerous moves out there, the burning hammer:

Just watch it in slow motion, you're essentially spiking someone on their head, and even though it looks like Ibushi is taking most of the impact onto his left shoulder, there's very little room for error. Easily way more dangerous than a piledriver.

Yup, that's typical wwe, utterly clueless. Even moves like the rko when catching someone in the air could easily lead to an badly injured neck. Its like they banned the piledriver because everyone knows what it is and its associated with Austins injury.

It really strikes me as amusing when something as basic as the piledriver is banned but all this flippity floppy crap and moves that focus on the neck aren't even glanced at. Rollins curb stomp apparently got banned because Vinnie felt it was too easy for kids to imitate. Has he seen any vids on YouTube? Theres kids out there doing all manner of moves, imitating something like a curb stomp would be the least complicated for them to do.

I work Sunday nights and am usually able to watch the PPVs while I'm here, but it's a busy one tonight so I'll have to watch it tomorrow. Don't know whether I'm bothered about spoilers or not tbh.

The crowd was asleep, they woke up for Miz vs Dolph though which was match of the night.

Burning Hammer looks like a nasty move, Brian Kendrick though I don't really like his look, he looks like a geography teacher who part times as a magician.

The Uso's, I didn't like them before and definitely don't like them now they are acting gangsta.

Not really a fan of Carmella. In general there's a bit too much screeching going on in the womens matches, Alexa is doing it, Charlotte is doing it.

Just watched No Mercy. I thought the triple threat starting the show was fine by me, and it was a very good match, but not ending the show with Dolph vs Miz is a massive, massive misstep imo.

Overall I thought it was just above average

This is why I am a PRO Wrestling fan...

The crowd, the anticipiation, the surprise, the spectacle..

Nights like this just do not happen anymore and maybe will not happen again. If Goldberg was booked today, the fans would be booing like mad seeing it as an undeserved push, it just would not get over.

I remember watching that back in '98 when Nitro was broadbast on Friday nights on TNT in the UK.

WCW's pinnacle right there.

Sure, "mat classics" are awesome I respect them equally BUT moments like that match are few and far between in PRO Wrestling, just everything coming together at the right time.. the Streak, the NWO, genius.

To build the main event even more, Goldberg had to defeat Scott Hall to get the match with Hogan. The crowd were EPIC.

It all went to **** at Starcade the same year but lets forget about that. THIS WAS AWESOME.

WWE.. Book Michael Buffer to announce Goldberg.. DO IT.

Bit odd the way they used the invasion theme for his entrance, then used the wwe theme for his exit. Only noticed it while scrubbing through it.

I assume that's because they know that everybody wants the classic Goldberg theme, but there's either some licensing issues or something that means that they want to use their own WWE theme for him.
So, give him the classic music for the big return, but then he gets the WWE version from there on out.
