They surpassed WWE in every way in one PPV.
Raw was near 50mins before anything happened in match. Same show, same stories, same moves, same characters over and over. All over production with no atmosphere.

I dont agree, it was a good show but its still has a long way to go, I would compare it to TNA ROH at this point,

My reasons
1. Number of good wrestler, at the moment AEW is very new and only has a few good wrestlers outside the 4 EVP's, Some even work for multiple companies like the lucha bros, Jericho, so its wont cover a weekly show or even many show if they have the same handful of stars.
2. They dont have the experience yet, which you could see in some of the matches, this will take a little time to get into the flow.
3. Some of the big name seam like one and done type of things, Earl Hebner, Awsome Kong, Bret Hart, Tye Dillinger, Tommy Dreamer.
4. if you take out the hype and you compare it to NXT takeover which is still larger then AEW, the takeover show IMO was better.
5 No Match build up, you need some to be invested in the match to give it a little push.
6. At the moment its not much different to NJPW and that wont work for long look at TNA (WWE), IMO a few steps behind they dont have a style yet.

What they have going for them.
1. The Hype
2. Peoples want for something else.
2. its not PG.
3. Leaning towards the New japan style
4. its not all scripted so things can flow naturally and wrestlers a key roll
5. Money
6. Some of the stars.

Main event was a total botchathon, Goldberg seemed to legit crack his head off the ringpost ona spear attempt, busted himself open, then the rest of the match was just comical. Botched Jackhammer, botched tombstone reversal, and a half assed chokeslam to finish it off.

Utter trainwreck of a main event. Taker no matter how much these Saudi guys keep paying you give the game up before you die in the ring, damn near could have broke his neck when Goldberg dropped him on it!

It just makes me sad, Undertaker literally had 'the' perfect ending to a glittering career. Main event of Wrestlemania 33 centre stage leaving his hat, coat and gloves in the ring, brilliant closing on his career.

Everything that has followed since then has been a sad joke and he'll never get to have the correct closing of his career again.

He's a massive hypocrite, he was criticizing Hogan back in 2002 for continuing to wrestle, and here is is several years older than Hogan was at that point still attempting to put on matches. Hogan worked a certain style and could still put on a decent showing even as he got older, Undertaker still seems to think he's in his prime and looks dead on his feet a few minutes into a match.

Goldberg was out on his feet after that corner spear attempt, not the first time he's done it either, in wcw he knocked himself out by doing the same thing. They should have hit a quick finisher and ended the match then and there.

Who from WWE thought it was a good idea to have not 1 but 2 wrestling geriatrics wrestle each other in the main event of a show needs firing! If you were going to do those 2 in a match together you needed some younger talent to carry them and a bit of smoke and mirrors, Brock got something passable out of Goldberg but left to his own devices you got what you saw tonight!

Sting if you are sat at home and Vince turns up with a lorry load of Saudi money for 'that' match (if it hasn't already happened it soon will) for the love of god say no! No one wants to see it now and your neck is destroyed already watch what happened tonight and value your health.

I'd like to hear an interview with Taker one day where he discusses what went on post Mania 33. The way that was written was surely meant as his retirement so who changed their mind?

Surely Taker didn't need the money that much? If the above is genuine and Vince won't let him wrestle again what a sad way for a hall of fame career to go out.

Sad fact is Vince for the most part is lacking "Star Power" so trotting out the over the hill brigade by promising them big paydays is really his go to card currently.

He has part timer Brock "beat" Undertaker to end the streak, and it never went anywhere after that. Lesnar just continues to phone in matches on the rare occasion he has one. It made no sense to end the streak for someone who was a part timer at best, but again this is Vince, he has spur of the moment decisions that nobody can change his mind on and down the line he regrets them.

Undertaker should have retired undefeated at Wrestlemania, but now he just looks like an old hack trying badly to stay in the limelight, the same thing he accused Hogan of back in 2002. Difference being at Undertakers current age Hogan could still work a match, Undertaker can only go a few minutes tops before he looks like he needs an Oxygen tank brought to him.

Plenty of content for the next Botchamania video!

To be fair to Taker/Goldberg they were performing in 100c heat which would have quickly zapped there already low cardio reserves. Hell the ring walk would have effected them. To old, to slow and a danger to each other a match that should have taken place 20 years ago.
