The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

Very poor WM considering what they built it up to be.

MITB was far too short and ended with a poor finish, very surprised and annoyed it was CM Punk that was given the briefcase.

Divas was pretty funny, Santino is just comedy gold :D

Legends match was great to see the golden oldies go at it again, Steamboat was doing very well! Would have rather seen Austin come down and defend the legends than that idiot Rourke.

JBL vs Mysterio needn't have been on, it was completely shocking. After all this time without the IC belt being worth anything they have another squash match with mysterio beating somebody 2 ft taller than him. When will it end?

Hardy fued was an average match, nothing more nothing less.

Micheals Taker was clearly match of the night as many of us knew it would be even though the result was a stick on before it had even begun. So many kickouts from finishers it was insane!

Cena wins again, no surprise at all there. 750lb lift was quite impressive though :)

Orton vs HHH was the biggest dissapointment of the night for me. Neither Legacy or McMahons got involved despite the ref being knocked out, and HHH once again has Orton job to him. If your going to elevate Orton to the height of the business where he should be do it at WM not at somewhere like Backlash.

Overall? Around 6/10 for me.

Lets hope tomorrow night Legacy get some revenge and lay the beatdown on somebody.

Edit: Oh and another thing, wtf was the point of getting all of the retired divas back like Molly Holly, Victoria, Sunny and Torie Wilson back if your not even going to give them a big entrance and tell us they are in the match! The first time Torie's name was mentioned she had just hit the deck and been eliminated.

I'm definitely going to be going next year in Arizona if I can find a group to go with

Perhaps an OcUK wrestlemania trip? :D

One of the worst manias in recent years. Just didn't have that big match feeling. HBK/Taker was the only match worthy of being on the card, it was truely one of the greatest matches of all the time. The rest of the show was just meh.

6/10 if that.

Me too, was just talking to the girlfriend this morning about if she would be interested in looking for tickets to see WM26.

Taker V HBK was great. Easily the match of the night.

When HBK hit Sweet Chin Music and the elbow drop I actually thought he was going to pin 'Taker, but I guess it would have been ridiculous if 'Taker hadn't kicked out of that considering Michaels had just kicked out of the Chokeslam, Last Ride and Tombstone. :D

Tbh I see no reason why this match shouldn't have been the main event. It was the match I was most looking forward to, the match the crowd were blatantly most looking forward to and was the best match of the PPV by miles.

Can someone give me a quick lowdown of who won what?

Don't wanna go through the whole thread.

Thanks.

The Colóns (Carlito and Primo) defeated John Morrison and The Miz to unify the WWE Tag Team Championship and World Tag Team Championship

CM Punk defeated Kane, Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas), Montel Vontavious Porter, Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, Christian and Finlay (with Hornswoggle) in the Money in the Bank ladder match

Santina Marella defeated 24 current and former WWE Divas, last eliminating Beth Phoenix and Melina in a 25-Diva battle royal to crown "Miss WrestleMania"

Chris Jericho defeated Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat and Jimmy Snuka (with Ric Flair) in a Handicap elimination match

Matt Hardy defeated Jeff Hardy in an Extreme Rules match

Rey Mysterio defeated John "Bradshaw" Layfield in a Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

The Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels in a Singles match

John Cena defeated Edge (c) and The Big Show in a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship

Triple H (c) defeated Randy Orton in a Singles match for the WWE Championship

I agree, likewise HBK v Flair should have ended the show at last years Mania and Taker v Batista should have ended the show the year before that. The WWE haven't got the closing match right for Mania for quite a few years now

In fairness, the 'Taker Edge match last year wasn't bad at all. It wasn't the best match of the event, but it certainly wasn't a let down.

They both gave all for that match really.

TAKER/EDGE 2008 was a good match but not great for the main event. The triple threat match between Orton/HHH/Cena should have been last years main event.

Anyone wish Steamboat and Y2J had a 1 on 1 match that last a good 15-20 minutes? They had really good chemistry in the ring together.

I can't help but feel that the reason I liked that match so much was because I wasn't expecting Steamboat to be as good as he was. I'm too used to seeing the old, lethargic vets slowly making their way around the ring, repeating signature moves for the crowd. Steamboat taking it to Jericho was fantastic to watch but I think it lasted as long as it should have done.
