First time using can coat today. Didn’t really feel or look like I was putting anything on! Instructions say to apply with one cloth, then buff with another.
After a couple of good squirts into a cloth, most of the time I couldn’t really see any streaking from the can coat, and it was pretty much buffing away as I applied it.
Left in a good hour and did the car again, so there’s two coats. Will see what it’s like when it rains I guess.

try it with a jug of water
the water will soon evaporate in this weather and you get to test it :)

yes would have been too sunny in cambridge to apply top coat, even polish/SRP solvents would also have been evaporating fast, .... cancoat say max 25C, sounds hot to me.

I've never used clay - you can feel the surface cleanliness with SRP and a smallish cloth contact patch.

Cleaned my Giulia Veloce today, the wheels were a right PITA - mainly because the dealer cleaned the car when it was in for a few fixes, despite me asking them not to clean the vehicle. They applied some sort of tyre dressing that just wouldn't break down despite scrubbing with Garage Therapy One Wheel Shampoo (usually apply this as a foam over the wheel, arches and tyres as a pre-wash), and hitting it with CarPro Re-Tyre!

Think I'll have to try either Bilt Hamber Surfex HD at 20% up to neat on the next wash, and hope the elements help break down whatever dressing they've put on.

been thinking about this today

I've got a tin of Fusso to go on at some point

always heard to do polish after clay then apply Fusso
but surely the polish will put down some residue , so this would be ontop off the paint ?

panel prep, clay then polish then wax ?
Depends on the polish, stuff like super resin polish or poorboys blackhole have fillers so you just need to have plenty of clean towels to buff with and then apply Fusso coat. If you're using a finishing polish or a single stage polish you can clean the panel with Carpro Eraser to get rid of any residue or oils (makes a good glass cleaner too) and then apply Fusso which is what I did.

Cheers

I've got some SRP
I can't do any correction or use a machine
But I do have eraser, so I'll use that after claying, then apply fusso I think

What is a good product for when a bird craps on a car just after being cleaned? Some kind of wipe or spray that can be used just to get rid of it quickly?

I keep a bottle of Meguiars Waterless Wash and Wax with a microfibre in the boot for this sort of thing. If it's already dried on, a wet tissue sat on it for a couple of minutes first helps.

170k/19 year old engine bay.

Nothing special just G101 followed by a quick rinse. Followed by Carpro Pearl on the plastics and bit of wire wool on the cam cover and other alloy parts just to clean them up a bit.

I know this pain far too well, the parking spaces at home all under trees so you get bird poo and tree sap. So I try and park on the side of the road instead. I tend to keep a QD and a microfibre cloth in the boot. I have also used had poor boys bird **** remover works well to.

Meguires on sale at Halfords at the moment so just picked up a bottle and pack of 3 microfibre cloths for £21, not bad!

Just went down to check on my car. Noticed a big splodge of dirt on the drivers side near the front wheel arch. So got out my trusty Kent wash mitt and some AutoGlym body shampoo and gave it a wash.

Dried with my Kent drying towel and was done. Well nearly, noticed another mark which I couldn’t rub off with shampoo alone, so got out my Meguiars Ultimate Compound and an applicator pad and managed to rub it off with that.

Cleaned that area after and dried with Kent drying towel. That Meguiars Ultimate Compound is bloody good stuff.

I used Hellshine Ghost Rider in the past and found it to be brilliant.

Eventually ran out and replaced with some Angelwax H2GO and didn’t rate it as good. Seemed to be a pain to apply and didn’t work very well, at least for me. Haven’t bothered using any since as I don’t really drive the car that much anyway.
