I need something (two products if necessary) for my dash board as well as exterior plastics.

I recently did the external plastics with some bumper and vinyl cleaner gel, but this has left an almost greasy residue and a gloss to the external plastics, which not only looks a bit tacky IMO, but it picks up fingerprints and dust really easily.

For the internal and dash plastics, I don't want anything glossy, or anything that is going to leave too much of a residue, just something that will clean and restore depth to the plastics.

Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care, its awesome inside and out, no gloss, works wonders on exterior trim, lasts longer and is easier to use then AG Bumper Care.

I spent some time over the last 2 days cleaning, claying, polishing and waxing the old Saab.

It looks so good in fact, some guy actually came to the door and asked if I would sell it. I told him no, the BMW is for sale, the Saab is probably worth about £1500 but to me it's worth so much more, sentimental value and all that.

I'll try to get some pics when I'm done, it still needs a bit more wax.

I'm popping to Halfords in a minute. I want to pick up some long lasting wax because the EGP I have been using isn't lasting as long as I'd like. I'd like to keep it bellow £20 if possible. What would you suggest?

Try that Collinite stuff i just used 15 quid.

I spent 42 quid in Halfords today, most of it on cleaning stuff

Autoglym SRP
Autoglym alloy cleaner
Back to Black trim cleaner
Meguiars NXT wax
Meguairs foam applicator pads
Microfibre towels
Alloy brush

And just bought a Meguiars clay kit from my housemate for a tenner. Bargain as it's unopened.

Few from the power fest last month.

I use Collinite 915 Marque D'Elegance on it.

It was closed anyway, 6 o'clock on a sat. Poor show.

I'm going to splash out on some Collinite 915 I think. Can you or should you put wax on with a DA or is it always best to hand wax?

Well you know what happened to me when i realised it was looking like hard work :)

But i can tell you that by hand does work a treat.

Just washed my Dad's Jaaaag for the first time ever - he has only previously used car washes or his own wash mit/drying leather. Another to add to my new portfolio! :D ;)

What do you guys think? :o

And then promptly did a once over on the wheels.

Ordered a Rain repellent for my windows and a drying towel:

1 100907 Waffle Weave Drying Towel - 60x90cm € 13,99 € 13,99
1 100269 Clearvue Rain Kleer - 300ml € 9,48 € 9,48

Now I have everything I need to ''properly'' wash my car at home using the 2 bucket method ( already have the meg wash mitt).

To have a complete detailing set I still need a good wax/sealant or gloss.

Got The meg's quick clay kit, a generic light cutting compound ( commandant scratch remover), AG SRP, ''quixx'' scratch repair kit leftovers ( a small tube of cutting compount and a small tube of polish) and a couple pieces of grit 2500 sanding paper... I also have 2 of them meg yellow soft foam app pads and a microfiber cloth.

When I find a good wax on offer I'll probably ''properly'' detail my car and try to correct the paint and make most of the scratches less visible ( and, until then, I still have turtle wax+ ptfe :D).

i ordered a 'EZ detail' wheel cleaning brush which got delivered today and it is much bigger than i expected... these are the wheels i've got:

do you think it'll work on these wheels, or do you think i should exchange for the 'mini' EZ detail brush instead?

I have a 1er too and have 18" double 5-spokes similar to yours. I've got both brushes and would suggest the smaller one for inbetween the tight double spokes.
