Yeah it's my dads it's such a nice car to drive. He is currently looking at the new XJ but it just wafts you along I would have bought one if I hadn't been 18!

A man of quality and taste, that was the last of the good looking Jags, i would have a new XJ now if they werent so bloody ugly :)

I shall have to post some proper pictures of it on here at some point! But its lovely just eats the miles away. I drive it every now and then and I enjoy it the seating and comfort is perfect when I am older I will get one. It's the 3.5L sport v8 and has plently of power and good on fuel aswell 30ish MPG . Its better than the dodge next to it that gets 10mpg!

Sadly with the advent of GMT comes my once every 2 week washing routine - the dark evenings mean there is no time to do it any more frequently, which is irritating :(

So just a quick wash today, didnt get a chance to dry it or anything else as it rained more or less right after. Sigh.

At least its presentable now.

Pressure washer -
Snow Foam Lance - PA Foam Lance 52.95 (Megs shampoo deal 63.95)
Snow Foam - Use the Megs shampoo
ACP - Megs Degreaser 18.95 (Tesco/Daisy is much cheaper)
Tar remover - Autosmart Tardis 19.95
Degreaser - Megs Degreaser 19.95
Detailing brushes (for badge's, creases, shuts and panel gaps) - Megs Slide+Triple 11.00 or Raceglaze Set 11.95
Misc Brushes (for arches and what not) - Tesco/Sainsburys 5.00
Shampoo Meguiar's Hyper Wash - 29.95
Wheel brushes (I really want to get in through the spokes and clean behind) EZ brushes 21.95 and 12.95
Wheel cleaner - Bilberry 10.00
Wheel sealent - Blackfire All Metal Sealant 26.00 (Poorboys will do, the Blackfire will also do your exhaust)
Plastic dressing - 303 Aerospace 16.95
Clay
Paint Cleaner
Polish
Wax
Glaze
Sealent
Glass Cleaner
Applicators
Drying cloths/shammys
Buffing/Finishing cloths

That's £220ish without the pressure washer and everything at the bottom. So I stopped.

That's all from Polished Bliss, so a bit limited for the bottom end stuff.

I moved from the Megs hyper wash to the Chemical guys citrus wash, and its better than Hyperwash imo.

Also, do you really need polish and glaze? same q for the wax and salant, i thought you used one or the other?

My car was filthy after a couple of weeks bad weather, and the weather was alright today so I managed to get a quick wash in.

Snow foamed
Washed with AG Shampoo
Then I used some AG Aqua Wax, which is really easy to use and leaves a nice glossy finish. Not sure how well it protects.
AG Clean Wheels and some Meguirs tyre shine used as well

I'm a detailing novice so I know this isn't exactly well 'prepared' for winter, but it looks clean so I'm happy.

Had two sample sachets of AG shampoo to use, (normally use Meguiars NXT)
and to be honest it was rubbish! hardly foamed up at all with the mitt, and didn't seem to shift the road grease on the bonnet at all!

Also didn't have the lovely smell as the megs!

It's the only thing I've ever used as I've only had a car worth cleaning for about 6 months. Once this bottle has finished I'll be trying out some other stuff :)

Whats the best quick detailer? I'm after one thats super fast and easy to apply while offering some kind of protection.

Megs LT is pretty good, they dont really add much protection, but are a great help when drying in the sun.Plus it smells fantastic!!!

Will do Fett

C2 is very easy to use. It's the C1 which has a steep learning curve, but G|T won't sell that to just anyone.

The I1 is amazing stuff. Have a look at the 'tissue' video on YouTube.

Did you buy the C5 then? Impressed?

It's good stuff, doubt I'd ever use PB sealant again, it's still shedding the crap months later. Doesn't look quite as good as BF Metal Sealant but for ease of application and sheer durabilty, it's a winner.

To all of you who only hand wash your cars on your driveway, how do you clean the undercarriage?
Surely you have to visit a car wash once in a while..
