Clean Mondeo is clean. For about 12 hours owning a black car is lovely before it gets the obligatory layer of dust that turns it grey.

Car clayed, polished, sealed and waxed. Absolutely shattered as it was hotter than expected by the time I finished

Looks great though

Did my dads for him also, only washed it for him though. Far too tired to do a proper job

Cleaned the MiTo today. Thought id better give a treat as it was getting covered in dust/sand. Joys of works carpark/living near the seaside(if you can call Morecambe the seaside;) ), plus a good excuse to get the new Nilfisk pressure washer out and play :)

Did the wife's car as well, why o why did i let her choose a Black car. Swirl central. Think im going to have to treat it to professional clean/correction at some point. But in the mean time after washing it(two bucket method, learnt that much), bonnet feels awful, lots of tar spots.
So since Halfords have got offer on AG products, is the AG clay kit worth it?
Thinking this may be a good start on her Civic at least.

Gave Tahula some much overdue TLC today, which made the gf jeaous a bit; car was filthy from general dust, pollen and seeds from a tree. 5h cleaning session.

Bilberry Valet Pro for the wheels (good stuff)
AG bodywork shampoo (prefer Megs Gold Class though)
Megs clay bar
AG SRP all over (tried some Scratch X but it was rubbish (again))
Megs Gold Class Wax
Autosol for the exhaust tip

If only I had some spare money for a proper paint correction session and sort out the odd scratch/scuff, it would be perfect.

Also I cleaned the car last week and gave it a good covering of super resin polish and extra gloss protection. The car looked stunning for about 2 days before being covered in dust from the nearby building site. Do I spend another 5 hours washing and polishing/protecting this weekend or can I get away with a quick rinse/wash/rinse?

There's no point in washing and waxing every week, get a PH neutral shampoo and just wash the car, until it needs rewaxing a few months later.

Once a year if it's Colinite 476s on top, otherwise twice :p

I would not apply a wax or polish in sunlight (like today, for example) - It will dry far too fast and dry deep into the paint and be harder to remove and buff. Much better to get the wash, polish and wax out of the way before the sun is high in the sky and while the panels are still cool to the touch.

I can move the car into shade once it's washed, so I think i'll give it a wash, then put it in the shade to cool off a little bit then finish it off.

I'm obsessed with cleaning my engine bay at the moment. Spent so much time on it these last two days

I know no one sees it but I think it looks great under there when it's cleaned up

The best method is you take your favorite collinite or whatever down to the Bosnians and give them a few quid to put it on for you after they wash the car :)
