After cleaning today I finally had enough of the dry water marks, so went to Halfords to have a nose at the detail sprays. Went for Car Plan Demon Shine (http://www.carplan.co.uk/index.cfm?category=88) - does the job great and only takes few minutes :)

Also got some T-Cut Black and did the entire bonnet and front arches. Makes quite a difference over the non-coloured stuff and took away some of the smaller chip marks.

What's the best cleaner for cloth interiors? Mine's got a bit mucky these last few weeks and want to get it looking good again

Anyone used Britemax Easy Cut and Britemax Final Shine? Read good things over on DW so I grabbed the pair and some very fine steel wool.

Seemed to work but not as well as I've seen other people do it. Will try again tomorrow but give it a bit more elbow grease. Using it to clean the exhaust tips which are in great condition on the exterior but have a fair bit of crud on the inside.

From DW, they recommended getting some Flash with FeBreeze general purpose stuff. I found some lemon stuff floating around, watered it down and yep works a treat and sooo cheap too! :)

What are people using to clean alloys these days? I've been using Wonder Wheels but it seems to be quite harsh on the alloys as the corrosion seems worse than when I used AutoGlym. The U variant is difficult to find and doesn't seem much better.

Are they that bad? I tend to only use cleaning stuff on the alloys once or twice a year.

I used some random wheel acid my dad had lying around when I first cleaned mine, as the previous owner hadn't been ultra meticulous with them and there was a bit of hard to shift stuff on there.

Since then, i've only ever needed to use the same shampoo as I wash the car with to get them clean.

I got loads of Mucoff that's leftover from cleaning my mountain bike. That works well and not that expensive.

i used "Very Cherry" wheel cleaner the other day and WOW.

caked front alloys, a few sprays of this stuff, left for 5mins

then pressure washed off and took most of it off with ease!

then i used a brush to get into the niggly bits

what used to be a time consuming job is now a 10mins one (for my wheels anyway)

First proper polish+wax since this time last year I reckon, car looks like new (still!).

Anyway, I noticed a ding, the first ever ding in fact :( Thankfully it's only visible from an extreme angle and you have to have your eyeball against the passenger door to notice it. Heck even if I posted a pic and circled it people would ask "what ding?" but still, I know it's there and now it will bother me forever more :(

I'm looking for a recommendation for a wax/sealant. All I've ever used is Megs gold class wax, was good on a black car, durability isn't great though. Now I have a silver car, a pants colour and I don't think anything in the world could make it look good. I just want something that will give pretty water beading and last a long time. Maybe I should use one of these new fangled sealants?

fK1000p suits your description

Think i may just clean my car whilst waiting for F1 to come on. You would think the alloys are black from all the brake dust on them.

Mind you they are dying for a refurb.

Decided to give the 650 a detail today. Paint was in terrible condition and so are the wheels.
Sorry about the weird white balance in some of the photos, silly iphone.
