TBH there is no way Bilberry would have stripped of any paint of your alloys. Its not acidic and is quite a safe wheel cleaner. What did you use to agitate the alloys?

Hi chaps.

Bilberry wheel cleaner. Used for the first time giving my new car it's first wash.

Mixed up 1:3 as directed on the bottle for very dirty wheels.

It stripped some paint off of two of my alloys.

Anybody had this problem before? I'm thinking it was a previous repair that hasn't been lacquered correctly? On close inspection a couple of my wheels have been touched up to cover marks.

I am planning on refurbishing one of the wheels in full as I stupidly curbed it last week. "Fortunately", it's the same wheel as the paint came off. (only a very small amount has come off of another wheel).

TIA.

I usually use it at 4:1 with my stupid diamond cut alloys and have not had any problems whatsoever. Think its a poor refurb on your alloys in the past.

Gave it a good clean today only for it to rain an hour later :(

Nice TT!

Question - Those 2 seats at the back, are they actually possible for human habitation? I mean, if you have legs!

I've had one person in the back but it meant the passenger had to move his seat right forward. Even then the sloping roof line meant he couldn't straighten his head in the back.

So, what kind of products should I buy for cleaning intricate wheels (BBS RZ)? I got bored after doing just half of one wheel earlier and threw in the towel, need something quick and easy.

Napalm?

Seriously though, I've found there aren't any quick fixes.

If snowfoam doesn't shift it then you're going to have to get in there with some Bilberry and a brush and do it spoke by spoke. Then of course you're going to have to seal it with Poorboy's.

The good news is, if you put the hard work in once and give it a really thorough clean with two or three coats of sealant it makes cleaning them the next few times much easier.

As long as you don't let them get stupidly dirty, I'd use Wolf's Chemicals - Deironizer (Brake Duster). Its basically a gel that you spray on leave to dry and then power wash off its non-acidic too :).

My car is red and in need of a good machine polish. Unfortunately I can't afford to do this yet, so wondered what else i could use to bring back a bit more colour depth and shine other than SRP and a wax with Dodo Juice. Is there another compound/product I could use?

I found out there's a garage fairly near to me with a jet washing station and I went to use it yesterday. Pretty good actually, not only does it just do straight rinsing but it has a pre-wash foam option (albeit, more water than foam) so good for a quick wash. I took my cleaning mitt and shampoo with me and gave it a quick once over.

Unfortunately, I forgot to also take the drying towel, so it was a bit of a waste...I had to make do with a quick dual carriageway blast to dry the car, but it's going to need another going over really. Doh.

Trying to freshen up some leather seats, anything better than Gliptone around or is that pretty much the "standard"?
