Hi Guys, had a look through the last 5 or so pages of the thread, very informative.

I was wondering, where do you buy your cleaning products from? Is there a cheap(er) online stockist which is highly favourable or is it mostly halfords ?

Thanks.

After a fair few motorway miles I've got a graveyard on the front of my car that won't shift, coupled with the car having done almost 3000 miles I figured I'd giver her treat. I was going to pick up some shampoo, polish, wax and clay bar but not sure on the correct order of everything. Also, what's the best stuff to buy that isn't going to make me bankrupt?

Rinse, Shampoo, Rinse, Claybar, Rinse, Dy, Polish, Wax. in that order :)

My windscreen suffered the most for Graveyard-ness this weekend:

Every single spot on the screen is a bug.

The bugs were so fat that their guts actually streamed upwards :D There was no rain, weather was dry as ever too!

Or maybe that was the speed..... ¬_¬

I did a run the other day - mostly chilled out apart from a full-beans blast up the Military Road which is around 10 miles long. My windscreen looked just like that, and my silver bumper looked more black/yellow/red/green than silver :D

Cheers, just need to find some inexpensive stuff now.

What kind of results can I expect with the G220 kit with the right pads on a car with medium to light swirls and sratches?

You should be able to remove the swirls, no problem but the amount of time it'll likely take to correct anything more serious will all depend on how long you can keep hold of the DA vibrating like they do.

I always use Meguires Endurance Tyre Gel, it's purple in colour. Seems to last longer than most of the others I've tried. Certainly avoid Turtle Wax's "wet & black", it's rubbish.

As for myself, well if anyone could point me in the direction of a good medium and soft pad, as well as some associated polishes, that would be appreciative. It's for a silverline rotary, I've gone through the pads that came with it now, but to be honest I thought they were all a bit soft.

Essentially I want to get rid of a few light swirlings, and then bring the car up to a very high gloss.

Waxes and Sealants I'm sorted for.

what are people's bird bomb tactics? I park in a garage at work and there are tons of blooming pigeons... mostly they just hit the glass luckily but when they get paint i try and rinse with water as much as possible.

Need to get a spray detailer I think to help removal & repair - what do people recomend?

only thing i need now is tyre blackener, any recommendations?

As I mentioned ten times before :p Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel. It's cheap, has uses inside and outside the car (matte, trim, plastic, kick plates, valance/diffusers and tyres etc) and lasts ages as you just release a blob on your tyre brush then buff it over the tyre.

Long lasting too. No need for a product specifically for tyre dressing.

To be fair, I use the Megs Endurance Tyre Gel on pretty much all black plastics (externally), and it's great for the engine bay.

Wouldn't ever gloss a piece of internal trim... eurgh.

I've some Sonus pads, first I've used and they seem quite good. Also used with Menzerna compounds.

+1 for Meg's tyre gel.

Any recommendations for leather conditioners?

I bought the AG cleaner which is fine however the AG conditioner/balm seems to have dulled it slightly and has left a white powder.
