Nice and sunny this morning so took a quick pic as it was cleaned a few days ago.

Have you got another pic of the front with the grills on?

I'd like to lend 2 tips that will get a very good wash and dry result which I've been using for a while but never got round to mentioning :D

If you use a decent shampoo then this will work great. I use the Zymol shampoo.

1:
When shamppooing your car with the washmit in your right hand (or left) use your opposite hand to circle along (wax on wax off style!) the area you just wash mitted.
I found this lathers the shampoo better and also you get to feel the surface for any particles left and rub them away with your hand and also get to have a good feel of the car body for any dents and scratches that you might miss in normal lighting.

The shampoo does all the lube work so you hand just rubs it down and also keeps the body from drying quickly whilst you wash the other panels. once done simply rinse off and dry (step 2)

2: When drying using a MF drying towel or 2 fold the towel once then again into a long baguette style item then starting at the beginning of a panel using both hands wipe down with the towel which will wipe away a very large amount of water leaving only small amounts which you can wipe to a dry water mark free finish after twisting the towel of absorbed water.

Here's my baguette !

mrk is the Zymol shampoo good? I'm almost at the end of a large bottle of Megs Gold so am thinking which one to get next.

I like it very much, one cap per wash = lasts ages too and also isn't irritating to skin so you can lather it onto the body with your hands as well. Also smells nice ¬_¬

Hiyahhh! :D

Carwashing n00b on a budget! Well i do good with a car shampoo and then whats about it!

What are must haves!? CHEAP tho! lol

Like a shampoo, rinse, polish, wax...? What is good to use on alloy wheels after washed? wax them too? I have a tyre black stuff :)

So... help!

Thanks! :D

Just finished doing mine,

Used

Autoglym Shampoo
Sheepskin washmitt + Two buckets
Autoglym Custom Wheels
SRP
EGP

This was the first wash since having the car (I've only had it two weeks) and I'm amazed at the amount of filth that SRP managed to lift up off the paintwork. The paintwork looks so much better for it. Have just applied EGP and giving that a bit of time to haze up. Pictures soon

are you talking about the zymol in a green bottle stuff? iirc this is just turtlewax stuff rebranded.
Megs Gold class is a FAR better shampoo in my experience.

lol, yeah that's my mum. Didn't know she was there. Probably checking I wasn't abusing her Camera or something.

Seems I missed a pic too:

Silver can be rewarding :)

Gave the car a good simple wash today, need to get some proper wax and polish etc soon.... worked a load of t-cut over the old scratches and chips and it made a big difference, I was dead impressed.

Need to take some good pics of the Mini now, not much has changed but still haven't got round to taking my own :P

i'd use a menzerna polish but t-cut is acceptable if followed up with a finishing polish to get rid of the imperfections it causes
