Or... The fact that your car is greyThis may sound stupid but my car came with BMW Seal & Protect from the factory and for some reason, dirt just does not stick to it. I hadn't washed the car in over a month, took it to a PH meet and everyone commented on it being clean.
Its been sitting on the driveway since the end of November in the elements; I've done 300 miles in it since being home and it is still gleaming. I'm sure its something to do with the seal and protect.

I've got the normal sized EZ detail brush - cleans the inside pretty well, but I use a cheapo Tesco one to scrub the outside/spokes. With these long bristle brushes, be prepared to get a face full of dirt when you 'withdraw'![]()
Wash, clay, polish, wax. Yes, no power tools or whatever, but I guess it still counts right?![]()
Then don't bring it up.
Grey and silver look like new after any decent wax ans polish session.
