I just don't get all this beading marlarky, when I hose down my car the same thing happens. I know my car has autoglym lifeshine on it but I haven't applied anything extra to it. Can someone post a video? :o

Post a video of what? :)

When you spray on it, it beads. When you run an open ended hose on it, it sheets!

I also like the carlack glass sealing kit. You will find that at 30 MPH you barely need any wipers even in heavy rain as the speed of the car forces the water to fly off. I found I actually just needed to put the wiper on once the rain had stopped just to clear the glass of a slight film that appears.

And I agree with phate on the Collinite 476s too. Only used it the once but the finish was fantastic on my Focus. Wish I'd put the effort in and kept it up. Have promised the new car that it'll get washed ad waxed and looked after!

Something else that was nice about the wax, though it probably applies to them all, is that if you have a lightly frosty night after a little rain I didn;t get whole slabs of frozen water, just almost perfectly square crystals where the water was allowed to freeze with less surface friction. Just looked really cool.

Mine has not been washed in a month, a month!!

I think it's also claybarring time. I don't have time to buy one off eBay for a tenner so will likely pick one up at Halfords :/

Still, looks good even dirty :p

Ive tried the sealant stuff and it annoys the hell out of me! Also after a while it doesnt work aswell and you either have to use the glass cut stuff to get it off or re apply and I just dont like it!

Cleanyourcar is still brilliant and shipping is fast as well as packaging, excellent.

Yeah I find these windscreen rain repellent things to be a bit useless because after a short while the dirt sits into the thin layer on the windscreen and the rain stops drifting off and you use the wiper then....smear central.

Decent wiper blades > Rainx and the like.

The only issue I had with the glass sealant was that after 6+ weeks it wasn't as effective in the wiper area of the screen. Just re applying it fixed that though.

RE the film that appears, I just used a quick squirt on the wipers and that film went. Typically that was after it had stopped raining. Don't recall any smearing though

The edges where the wipers couldn't reach were still streaming water a year later.

I gave my car a snowfoam, wash and detail spray yesterday for the first time in a while, the sealant I applied in oct/nov has done a good job!

Guys any of you know where exactly a Glaze can be used?

My dad got me a 1 litre bottle of 3M glaze and im a little unsure of where it fits in.

At the moment, my detailing regime is :

Wash - TFR - Clay.

Depending on swirling and defects - Machine polish with a white 3m pad with Menzerna medium cut.

Wipe with last touch.

Final finish with machine, blue pad with Menzerna final finish.

Wipe with last touch.

Finish of with Colly 915/FK1000P.

Where would a Glaze fit into that scheme?

I'll have to dig my supplies out tomorrow and see what I need to pick up. No idea where all the microfiber towels I had have gone or most of the applicators. Fairly sure I still have the products I bought though.

I'll have to get an order in with CYC!

So, I tried my hand at a some paint correction on the bmw today. Got from this..

An improvement, but there's still loads of deeper swirls left in there so I need something better.
Have decided to try out the Scholl S17+ compound, but my compounding pad is knackered so need something new. What pads should I be looking at?

Looking at getting the seats in the Type R shampoo cleaned wondering if anyone has used the attachment that comes with a rug doctor you can rent to do them would also need to get the shampoo for car seats or is it less hassle to get a valet company to do it.

Is there such a thing as a shampoo for seats that does not require a wet vac

Finally got a chance to clean the cars yesterday after a few weekends of bad weather. Can't wait for decent weather so I can clean it every weekend!

Spent a few hours cleaning the Fiesta before waving goodbye, not bad shape for a 16 year old car

Then it was onto the Zed for rinse, wash, polish, wax for the first time in a few weeks

Doesn't really matter on what you get. I've used various over the years but the Megs kit is readily available in one box. I've used that once before and the spray on lubricant is also useful after you've clayed as a quick detailer spray when drying to stop watermarks so it serves 2 purposes really.
