Back on topic, I look forward to your thoughts on a DA polisher :)

Since you know, I am still looking for one.

I was just interested why you wanted to pro over the standard DAS 6 seeing as the specs were identical to the Pro bar the motor being less powerful (unless I'm going blind) but I don't really see it being that much of an issue seeing as I doubt your paint is so bad you need to lean in heavily to carry out any correction work.

All you need is something with a decent orbit (no point buying a DA otherwise), variable speed and a motor that doesn't bog down with the lightest of presses. You can nit pick over brands and reviews but the finish comes down to how you use the machine, the pads and compounds you use. If you bought any of the machines from cleanyourcar, I suspect you'd be happy with the finish.

On top of the motor, It also come with 2 backing plates and I like the blue :)

Decided to give the S a good clean today. Washed, clayed polished and was about to wax when it started to **** down so had to give up. Will I be OK to just continue from where I left of tomorrow? Just give it a quick was and then finish with the coat of wax?

Yes mate, that will be fine.
A wash, dry and follow with a LSP of your choice.

Clayed mine last night (2 weeks old from the dealer) much better after a claying, went straight to the sealant Blitz in my case. :)

Both are fillers for hiding scratches.

AGSRP is an all purpose filler which can be used on all paint colours. It also has a slight cut to remove some marks.

Black hole is a glaze not polish. It is a filler specifically for dark paint.

If you need to remove fine swirl marks then go for a cutting polish (followed by black hole if it's dark paint) rather than SRP. If you're happy hiding the swirl marks then SRP will do a good job, however it will not protect for long if that's not covered with a glaze/sealant.

Never got round to ordering, or cleaning the car for that matter.
I'd post a pic but I think some of you may go a bit bonkers :p

Which cutting polish would be worth using?
Or is it adviseable to stay away from them as I've not a clue what Im doing? :p

Magic Black ro w/e they call it Seat Ibiza

Ye ive just seen the DA ones, seems to be a few of them, which is the prefered one to go for?
Meguiars if you have the money.
If you'd rather go "cheap" (*disclaimer see below) get one of the DAS Polishers... The link that Ray posted will take you too a very good list of various DA polishers for you to look at.

*Disclaimer = by no means are the cheaper polishers less functional, useable etc than the more expensive Meguiars. I have one of the DAS polishers and it's brilliant! Oh and effortless!

Depending on what condition your paint work is in, you will need some different types of polish and sealant... The Machine polishers can be bought with detailing products as part of a bundle.

:)

The DAS-6 DA.
I bought the Sonus bundle version: Sonus Bundle
I already had some Sonus applicator pads which I impressed by and read good things about Sonus so went for that.

And what polish do you use?

I have tried hand polish out some scuff marks on Sunday but it's not really work, i mean it hides it a bit but it is still there if you know where to look.

And do you use it to wax the car?

If you were using your SRP to try and do that it's no wonder - SRP isn't a cutting polish, it's a filling polish. It just hides minor things, it won't remove anything.

I hope to god he was using the Scratch X 2.0 he bought otherwise I'm going to deskface hard.

Correct, I used the Scratch X 2.0

Scuff marks on plastic bumper trim can be easily removed using crunchy peanut butter. Just saying :)

Just googled this Iron removal thing and found IronX Paste.... Looks amazing! But it must be pretty lethal no?! My wheels are covered with black bits so may have to invest in some of this stuff.

don't get paste. Get either pre-diluted spray or bulk buy the un-diluted if you plan on using it loads. It's far from lethal and can be used all over the car.

IronX is the dogs, but I use Wolf's deironiser, as it's cheaper and does an excellent job. Removed 2 years worth of brake dust in 5 minutes...

To be honest I can't understand how people clean without it.

I use the Sonus polishes that I had with the DA. Very good stuff I must say!

I've not used it for waxing yet, but I have some soft bonnets that you can use apparently to apply and buff the wax... She's well overdue a wash as the roads around here have just been relaid and she's filthy :(
