I'm still not sold on Tyre Shine/Gel. I prefer the au naturel look provided they've had a good scrub.

That's a good looking Audi Ad, although imageshack seems to have spoilt some of pictures.

Cheers, sorted it now, work computers didn't have photochop and the bmp files were horrible.

What should I use for wax that says apply by hand and then buff it, should I use a Meguiars Foam Applicators to buff it, or a Sonus SFX Pro Applicator, or something else?

I'm looking at Victoria Wax - Concours

Thanks

Am I still missing anything? :p

The Megs foam pads are excellent especially as you can apply pressure to the wax to get it into the panel better. I found them to be much better than the Halfords MF applicator pads and they cost the same too.

For buffing you can use a normal MF cloth or a cloth designed for this exact purpose. I use the Autoglym Finishing cloth, has a different texture to a normal MF cloth and has more strength (non stretchy over time and numerous cleans)

If it's cheaper than the Autoglym towel (£9~) then go for it. Personally I generally use AG towels with the exception of the Super Terry !

Have a look on ebay, i got 3 x 38cm sq Poorboys super plush buffing towels for £9.

Theyre great, theres a long pile for buffing wax and a short pile on the other side for buffing polish. Makes light work and gets a great finnish.

Some of you will be happy to kno that I've moved some of the cleaning stuff from the neat boot drawers/trays E46 comes with to the car cupboard leaving only the normal stuff in the boot (glass/panel wipes for bird poo, spot leather wipes for spills etc)

Looking emptier in the boot now though!

The 2 blue ones on top are not from Halfords though they do look similar! they're a lot larger and great for drying windows and also in between the doors and bits you would not want to put the super terry!

Ok yesterday was dry but not sunny enough to see the results of the Collinite doublecoat wax but today was very sunny so drove to a nice green area for reflections and got some examples:

Happy with the results! Also the Chemical guys gel works great on both tyres and plastic, seems to lift off dirt and embed it into the gel when used on the tyres though because if you touch one of the tyres you will have a black finger :p

That looks the sex mrk . You've succeeded in making a silver car actually look like its been polished :D.

I think i need to get some wax that gives a deeper shine. I'm using collinite 467s? at the moment which is very hard wearing but doesn't give that OMFGZ effect that you've achieved above and my cars black ffs.
