Guys got a bit of a problem with my Focus, used a snow foam machine at my friends and it seems to have ruined my new rubbers around the windows frames, the rubber has gone very white spotty and im very annoyed with what is essentially a brand new car free from any defects. I have tried trim and bumper restorer and black to magic stuff but all its done is kinda made it greasy and hid it but not too well. Have I ruined the rubber? :(

Got a picture?

Today I discovered one of the biggest problems with owning a white car - tar spots.

What should have been a quick wash to get rid of the winter grime turned into a six hour foam/wash/clay/wash/cleanse/wax session, because as soon as it was washed, hundreds of tars spots became evident. Never really had much of a problem on the dark grey Mazda I used to have.

What's the best method to get rid in the future, without claying? Will a decent spray on tar remover be sufficient, or will it always need to be clayed off?

Cheers. I've got some Valet Pro Dragon's Breath which I used on the wheels today. Can that be used for tar spots on paintwork? It also smells vile, hence the name I guess.

Dragons breath is I believe an Iron / Fall out remover (they all smell horrible) so wont remove the tar. As for a tar remover, Autosmart Tardis is highly recomended and it is the only one I have ever used. I would also recommend it as you can 5l from an AS rep for around £15 so waaaay cheaper than anyone else :)

All the rubber trim is like the below,

What can I add on top of my detailed A3 to make rain bead off it rather than clinging to it? I want something that looks very nice and shiney, the car is silver/light blue pearlescant if that helps?

Any LSP at all. Even a freshly polished paint surface without LSP will bead nicely. If it doesn't bead then it isn't 'detailed' at all. I've never polished or waxed my e36 at all and it beads up just from the wax in the shampoo, I only use that once every 2-3 months.

Last Step Product/Protection :) Something like Collinite 476S will offer good protection and good beading for many many months. I last applied 476S last July, and it is still beading till today .

Did mine yesterday. Just a quick go over with some crap car shampoo/wax stuff I had in the garage to get the last couple of months of grime off it, wheels are still a bit of a state close-up so will need something proper for those, but it's a lot better than it was:

Still need to make an attempt to get that damn yellow dealer sticker off the boot door. :(

Picking up a Golf MK6 GT TDI in black at the end of this week. I'm getting it at a good price from a good friend of mine who has deep pockets. Those deep pockets reflect on the state of the paint however :( scuffs and Eastern European car park washes have taken their toll over the 4 years. Swirls plus light scuffs.

I have a DAS6 in the garage with a mixture of good waxes.

I require some decent polishing compounds along with new pads. What are your thoughts? Meg 105 and 205 with 3M pads?

What's the best way to get like mud/dirt stains out of seats?

AG Interior Shampoo is great for removing most stains. Diluted APC and a microfibre cloth works for me most of the time if the stains are heavy. If the stains are really bad, hire a rugdoctor and go over the insides twice, should remove everything :D

I use Meguiars 105 and 205 with Chemical Guys Orange Hex Logic pad and Chemical Guys White Hex Logic pad. 105 with the orange pad, and 205 with the white pad leaves awesome results!

Something like Autosmart Tardis or Valet Pro Citrus Tar and Glue Remover will remove it. Just spray it on, leave it a few seconds (around 30) and then you should be able to remove it really easily!

In other news, washed it, de-contaminated it with iron-x and tardis, clayed it, polished most of it with the DAS-6 (missed the roof, getting too late, will do later), applied 2 coats of 476s and 2 coats of Poorboys Wheel Sealant. Shiny car!

AG SRP/AG RD = perfect for me. I love the smell the rapid detailer gives.

Give Chemical Guys Vintage Speed Wipe a try, it smells amazing and works really well. I got some with my last Waxybox, and I don't use other quick detailers anymore. The only downside is, is that it is a tad expensive. Vintage Speed Wipe and Sonax Xtreme Brilliant Shine Detailer are my top two :)
