Just invested in a Gilmour Foam Master and 5L of Super Snow Foam. Should make life a bit easier.

Foaming is really good fun. You'll be surprised how much muck it lifts off without you needing to take a washmitt to the car. Just watch where you're spraying if it's windy. :o

Mine was looking like this the other weekend... up to the eyeballs again now though.

Can't rate Poorboys wheel sealant enough - they come up like new with just soap since using it post refurb. :)

Least your wheels are easy to clean, I have to spend a good 5-10 mins per wheel due to the split spokes and get my pinky in between them!

Yeah I got one of those but they're not that great, I get much better results from a thin sponge and my fingers to get the shampoo in there!

The wide rim dish where the spokes meet make it hard to use the alloy wheel brush in those areas which is where the sponge comes in one its own:

^ you can see in that pic the dish size and where the split spokes meet in, the brush just cannot get into those nooks to get built up brake dust out!

Not looked into one of these? Can't imagine one would be much good on mine - an old wasmitt does the job. :)

Those Megs brushes are rubbish. The rubber nipple on the end gets stuck between narrow spokes, and the brush comes out of the handle.

I use a combination of a flat halfords looped wheel cleaning brush, a £1 back scrubbing brush from Wilkos, and a 40p bog brush (also from Wilkos) for my wheels.

Just using the one brush means it won't last long if you use it often and are even slightly enthusiastic with it. My megs brush lasted about 5 washes before it looked knackered and came out of the handle.

Detailing on the cheap

Just bought myself a bargainous refurbed Halford HP2000 pressure washer for £56 all in online as an early birthday pressie.

I know it can be used with detergent, but what stuff is good and not too expensive?

Got a DA machine this week, did a little tester on my Mum's car. The paint was in a right state as you will see! I think the previous owner used a scouring pad to clean the car!
Now I'll wait for some more good weather and then I'll give it a go on the 182 :)

Thanks for showing us how to polish a turd ;)

He didn't use any polish :p

Great results Shadowness. What do you mean by DA? My mums black Jazz looks like the before pics and really needs the same treatment.
