You have to be very careful with DA's, easy to make a complete **** up.

No, they are poor tbh, weak cutting power, a rotary is much better. Good for final stage polishing and maybe LSP though, as they don't leave buffer trails/hologramming.

Even with a rotary you'd have to be a total plank to burn through, as in have the machine on maximum speed, at a steep angle and with a lot of pressure on it.

Flipping heck! I've never seen a fiesta that model, that clean and shiny!

Good job fella! Really is shining :D .

I can't see how it is even possible to get to the primer using a DA machine, he must be special to manage that. Even using a 320 grit dry paper you'd have to sand the same spot for a good 2 or 3 minutes constantly (by hand) before reaching primer, and the cutting power of a DA is virtually nothing compared with that, must have kept the machine on the same spot at high speed for ages. You can't even put much pressure on a DA before the rotation stops anyway, leaving you with just the orbit, which is useless.

While I remember...

What's wrong with them? :p

Nothing really but they're £4 each at Halfords or 89p for the same ones at Tesco. Well this was a while back so the prices at both stores could be different now. They're the exact same cloth though.

This is the same mate who thought using a DA on his windscreen with a rubbing compound was a good idea, you may now get where i am coming from. Oh he also decided that removing the filter from CDA filter would be better for airflow.

On the subject, windscreen scratches. I have some fine and one major scratch on mine which REALLY irritates me. Is there anything I can do?

you can polish glass too, same as paintwork. But results are hard to get.

Got windscreen cover on your insurance? Might be like £70 but could get a new one

nice pics snip

Nice job, paint and swirl removal reminds me of a donor/test car I did years ago...

Nice job squire.

Alternatively you could all just move to america. I haven't washed my cash since the day I got it and it still looks brand new. Cars here just dont get dirty.

Or just be a lazy **** like me and don't wash it for months anyway no matter what country you live in :p

Seriously the last people to wash my car was BMW Stockton nearly two months ago :o

It's hard to get myself motivated to clean my car this time of year. Only takes 1 day of rain and all the work is undone.

Not bad for 15 year old red paint, probably would look even better with a proper PC polish but I haven't got one :p Brand new wheels arrive on wednesday :)

Ah well, that was painful...can't feel my fingers or toes.

Werkstat seems to have held up pretty well, haven't applied any for ages

Need some advice.
Just cleared out a tesco bag full of crap from my car (bad, i know) and theres a nice layer of scuzz from some spilt milkshake in the back of my car. Can i break out my mothers vax and just wet wash it with carpet shampoo etc or are there other, better options to rid of this nastiness?

Well spent over 3 hours doing the interior today, what can I say...I was bored.

Hoovered, dressed plastics with Poorboys Natural look dressing, Werkstat acrylic polish on the inside of the windows, cleaned and sealed door shuts and aerospace 303 protectant on the sills.
