I did give my new car a clean a few days ago and got some pics on the proper camera, unfortunately light was fading fast so the car doesnt look very "spangly" on the photos.

The wheels have been the biggest pain on this one getting them cleaned fully! I think im about there now though! Will get some properly lit pics at some point!

I dislike Armor All leather wipes because they leave your leather shiny and with a slightly sticky finish - the best I have found for leather is Autoglym's Leather cleaner and Leather feed.

For teh dash it's Simoniz silicone free matt spray :D

Meh, hate sprays on your interior, have to clean the glass etc afterwards!

Only thing i've noticed with the Armor All wipes is after using them, if you get water on the doorcards/dash etc (e.g open door when its raining), you end up having water marks when its dried, must be something left when you've used the wipes!

You don't have to spray the dash directly :p I never do as I too hate getting it on the glass so spray it on my MF cloth then wipe the dash - a much more logical way of cleaning the dash and trim :)

What gels are there for matt dashboards?

Spray lasts ages, mine lasts me at least a year and that's with the bi-weekly clean and costs £2.50 !

poorboys natural look dressing, I guess technically it's not a gel, that wasn't the right word to use, but it pwns when applied properly

Man, how can any of you be arsed to clean your car in this weather? I would rather sniff a tyre of a moving lorry! Had my car since august and never cleaned it! But after seeing this thread i might just take it to them Polish guys you see everywhere, tomorrow.

Just sit in car makin sure they understand how warm i am in there :D

Did mine yesterday. No pics as I'm sure you guys don't want to see a dirty old Rover... but my god, was it bad :( Trips to and from Preston every weekend, and then a trip down to Birmingham a few weeks ago... it was horrible :(

Hoping to keep on top of it and give it a quick once over every week. Just because it's cold, that's no reason to neglect the car. It does look super smart when it's clean, so definiately worth doing.

the only thing that stops me cleaning my car is when even the hot water turns straight to ice when it hits the metal...happened a few weeks ago, not fun

this thread is quite inspiring about detailing in todays freezing weather (it is off the detailingworld site (linked in the ops 1st post)

In these icy months cleaning the Honda properly usually results in it getting filthy the following Monday when I drive it to work, so my weekly washes at this time of year usually just consist of a good hose-down to get rid of the salt and grime, and it looks fairly clean ;)

I take my car to those public jet washes in this weather along with my wash mitt. I use the brush for the wheels after a quick blast with the jetwash and the local ones have a nice foam solution that works quite well.

It keeps the crap off the car and it looks pretty shiny afterward. Beats spending hours cleaning for it to be **** up in no time at all.

Example:

Ignore wheels, nothing will shift the crap off them as they're corroding and all the brake dust has embedded itself in the bubbles :(

as hot water evaporates it cools the fluid faster...

... Oh and yeh it happend to me last week too. lol

My car was absolutely covered in road salt so today I gave it a going over with the pressure washer, just to get the grit off the arches and under the sills; didn't bother to wash it or even dry it. Tonight, went to get in the car and the doors had frozen shut :D

Nevermind. I was actually surprised how much dirt the pressure washer shifted, the car is looking fairly presentable now. Last year, even a pressure spray wouldn't shift the grime off of it.
