anyone use SRP with a machine polisher?

Im thinking of buying a Medium polish/lightcut pad to use with poorboys SSR1, and then use the finishing pad to work in AG SRP. Before topping off with AG HD wax.

Well im going to be using a light powered buffer with SRP, been told its quite easy to do..

SSR1 and AG SRP will do similar things

If using SRP with a machine I'd use a polishing pad rather than finishing, since SRP has minimal abrasives

In the coming months and going to give my car the full foam bath, clay bar and all the rest of it.

I have no idea about foam baths. I've seen them done on the net and they look awesome.

Can someone point me in the right direction to what I need to get started washing the car this way?

I'm become a bit of a master with the bucket of water and a sponge but I want to try some more adventurous things :)

From what I understand you would use a foam lance attached to a pressure washer to foam your car.

p.s. sponges make baby jesus cry

Most definitely agree, couldn't believe the person over the road washed his Ford Focus ST with a sponge  Swirl heaven and to top it off, was only using 1 bucket...! :(

Sheepskin Mitt with the two bucket method is the way forward ;) It's unbelievable how dirty the 2nd bucket actually gets - so glad I switched!

The luminous green washmits that you can buy from tesco/range etc (JML brand) work great, only £3 too and gives same results as the sheepskin mitts that cost a tenner (had one).

Easier to clean too afterwards.

if you mean the microfibre ones, I only use them for wheels/arches as they cause swirls just like a sponge due to the lack of deep pile. Lambswool for the win

ok sounds good, been told that AG HD wax "sticks" better to a surface preped with AG SRP.... but then that was a AG salesman. lol.

apparently AG HD wax doesnt like sticking to silicone based products, which isnt that great considering the megs last touch i use is basically just silicone

to be honest it will most likely sit on any polish, problems only arise with some waxes not liking sitting on top of sealants. Doesn't really matter anyway since putting a wax on top of a sealant ruins the finish imo.

last touch is for use after the wax is applied anyway, so don't worry about that.

oh yea, the applicator pad you get free with HD wax is poop, you'll find it much easier to apply a nice thin layer if you get a decent one

Just a quick pic to show the problem with having a gilmour and low water pressure!

yeh ive kinda noticed that its a bit rubbish.

which would you recommend:
Ultimate german applicator
or
Sonus applicator
thanks:)

and Nuts, thats what the Gilmour does really. Doesnt really "foam" like a proper Foam lance on a pressure washer.

Gonna look for a lance attachment for my pressure washer then, just dont have enough pressure for the Gilmour.

does the pressure go up during summer? our pressure here is low right now but it normally goes up at summer.

It seems to stay pretty low all year round. Was just talking to someone on DetailingWorld who suggested mixing the snow foam with some Megs Gold Class and warm water. Will give that a go.

yeh if you can get the hosepipe to run off the hot tap it will be good, but the problem is you need it warm, not hot lol.

ive been looking at water heaters or heated pressure washers but i think i can buy a new car with the cost.

I use the ultimate german applicator pads, they are great. White side for polish and red side for sealant/wax

thanks. What machine polisher you use? If you use one. People are saying i should spend more and get the G220 but £50 more for what? a plastic case and a longer power cable? lol
