Snowfoam = Overhyped.

Pickup some Citrus Pre-wash and a 2L garden pump sprayer. Just dilute, spray on, leave 5mins, power wash, then get on with your wash as normal.

It'll remove as much dirt (if not more) than snow foam, will cost less and take less time.

Or use AF Citrus Power / Demonshine RDS which is wax safe.

My 5L bottle of Meguiars snow foam is about to run out, so last night I ordered a bottle of the new Auto Finesse snow foam. According to Polished Bliss and Auto Finesse, the Auto Finesse Avalanche snow foam has the Auto Finesse Citrus Power cleaning agents in it.

It's currently on its way to me, so I don't know if its any good yet. But I've always liked the Citrus Power spray, so if its like that combined with a snow foam then it should be good.

From what I've heard its a great product. I currently use Valet Pro Advanced Neutral Snow Foam and if anything at this time of year its great for softening bug splatter.

Anyone tried this? How do you apply it as it appears instructions are German.. is it applied after you've cleaned and polished your car?

Big discussion and lots of people like it in this thread. (Search Sonax BSD).

Most use it after polishing as a sealant.

You can also spray it earlier to help as a drying aid.

Ah cool, ye been hearing a lot about it all over the place! Will have a read, thanks.

All these products are essentially the same. You can by the majority from Autosmart far cheaper. Any differences found are usually placebo.

I used to be obsessed with detailing before I realised this.

Well, I can safely say I've fallen for hype behind products before, every week DW seems to pick out some amazing new product and immediately becomes the de facto for whatever category of product it falls under.

I've previously used Auto Finesse Desire, Megs QD (the red bottle one), Demon Shine - albeit more of a gloss enhancer than QD, and now onto BSD. BSD wins by a country mile despite me having the others still left over in bottles.

I'm very impressed with the stuff and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, unlike the AF Desire which was quite hard to see the results of.

If Astonish Spray and Shine works for you, and you're happy with the results, continue using it. You could be forever buying every new overhyped product on the market and never be truly happy with the finish it imparts :)

Well, one week after my first usage of BSD and I'm still very pleased with my purchase. Despite it being a rainy week, there's only superficial dirt on the car, whereas with just the Dodo SNH the lower panels would have been covered in dirty water and road traffic marks.

A quick blast with the jet washer was perfect to remove near enough all of the dirt - the sections of the rear bumper directly behind the rear wheels needed a proper wash as always but it wasn't anywhere near as bad is it usually gets.

Still quite a short amount of time so will see how it goes over the coming few weeks. I'll be giving a mates Phoenix Yellow E46 M3 a thorough wash and protecting with Sonax PNS and topped up with BSD before we go on a road trip through to the Nurburgring, Munich, and Black Forest the week after next so that should be as good a test on how good the Sonax stuff is as I can think of :)
