thanks. What machine polisher you use? If you use one. People are saying i should spend more and get the G220 but £50 more for what? a plastic case and a longer power cable? lol

I wouldn't bother, you're not going to get any better correction with the the G220 over any other D/A polisher, the only difference is the G220 looks prettier. I have a makita rotary

Car has been looking decidedly tired and mucky so I braved the cold and gave it it's first clean in months.

Products used:
Simoniz Shampoo followed by Simoniz Wax
Autoglym Glass Polish
WD40 on the black trim
Several cups of tea
Lots and lots of elbow grease.

took my car into a service today... forgot to ask them not to clean it because you often hear horror stories about how shoddy there work is..... But they've done quiet well! :o

Where did you buy your clear front indicators from?
Ebay

Was it a pain to fit?
Not really - except I had to replace the old plastic screws...they disintegrated when I tried to unscrew them so I just pulled them out with some pliers and fitted the new lenses using some screws I found kncoking around that were the same size.

did it require the removal of the the bumper?
No

Do they still flash yellow?
Yes - orange bulbs fitted

:)

Brilliant. I've got the same car. X reg Ghia with horrible tango indicators. Yours look very smart. Cheers :)

Thanks, no problem. I think they are RS indicators if you are searching the Bay. Very easy to swap; theres one screw in the front of the lense, take it out and the whole indicator unit unclips and comes out.

The side repeaters I bought new, again, easy to remove. I think you just push them down and prise them off....be careful not to scratch the paintwork though.

What an awesome finish. As you can see from mine, silver isn't especially good for mirror finishes (Especially not nearly 10 year old Ford silver :D)

Silver can be quite good, suppose it depends on the paint makeup though!

No trickery involved :) just get a composition where you can see good reflections and take the photos!

i spent an hour today cleaning my wheels, they took an hour each

they had been neglected a bit, there was tar dots and the fronts had brake dust stains

i used some meguires metal polish and finger nails to get the bulk off then after that i used a simple polish/wax to keep them protected

the audi rings are mirror like now.

Nice to see it aint just me that gets far too caught up in detailing! Posted a few weeks ago on DW after it's first proper clean, sadly after doing 500 miles each week it's covered in salt and slush each monday morning :(

My first/last proper go at it, still not got round to using the Carlack on it and doing a full day at it due to it never being above freezing
