so did you clay it and leave it at that?

Pretty much yeah, clayed it then dried it, light was fading and thought I'd get a chance to spend a good 6 hours repeating what I did there the weekend after followed by the sealing & waxing. Need to use the Carlack on it, then wax etc as well....and that's not happened as yet. Annoying thing is those products will help to protect the paint from all the crap that's on it at the moment

Did the quickest wash ever yesterday...

ag shampoo followed by ag aqua wax.

amazing stuff that aqua wax, just bang it on the wet car and apply with the micro-fibre cloth.. then buff with other cloth to a pretty decent shine!

start to finish was approx 2 hours which aint bad considering the car hasn't been washed since september:eek:

Mine was nice and clean, but then it decided to snow :( . At least it got a treat to some wax :D .

Has anyone got any experience with Dodo Juice Blue Velvet ?
I'm using R222 Carnauba Wax at the moment.

i bet the conditions at the moment will be making a mess of your paint, id definately recommend a polish regardless

a normal polish would do nothing to protect it, you'd have to make sure it was something like SRP which also contains sealants (protects) or even better a full on sealant or wax

Brilliant. I've got the same car. X reg Ghia with horrible tango indicators. Yours look very smart. Cheers :)

The only thing I'd add is get some silver bulbs while your at it, they make a big difference as with orange bulbs the repeaters still look orange. With silver bulbs they look white and much smarter and still flash bright orange.

Also the repeaters i got from ebay came with 2 stainless steel screws to replace the original ones.

Nice to see it aint just me that gets far too caught up in detailing! Posted a few weeks ago on DW after it's first proper clean, sadly after doing 500 miles each week it's covered in salt and slush each monday morning :(

My first/last proper go at it, still not got round to using the Carlack on it and doing a full day at it due to it never being above freezing

Do you not have anything better to do?

I haven't cleaned mine in nearly 6 weeks

dont you have anything better to do other than mess about with your PCs ?

I havent touched the insides of my PC in several years.

Dont go slagging peoples hobbies off mate, its not big and its not cool. People enjoy wasting time cleaning their car, in exactly the same way you spend time messing about tinkering with your PCs.

Jesus, don't you guys have anything better to do than jump to people's defence?

Before this decends into a farce - Tim's a mate of mine, I helped him out when he was looking for detailing geek products a few weeks back.

I've not washed the Civic properly since about November, but i'm actually looking forward to polishing it when it gets a bit warmer:o

Maybe that's his hobby.

apologies if it was a personal joke between yourselves, but too many people here jump on bandwagons. One of them is the "lets slate everybody who looks after their car" wagon. And its annoying, just as much as the "why does everybody recommend BMWs / mondeos all the time " wagon.

I haven't cleaned mine since I got it (I have pressure washed it though, not really the same).

I'd like to but the weather here is so poor and the drive so atrocious that a) there's no point and b) I haven't had the chance yet.

Still, the pressure washing keeps the salt and crud off it at least.

Will give it a decent clean soon :)

I know what you mean, it's a bit naive of me posting an in-joke anyway on a forum this size.
