It's funny though, I find myself cleaning the car carefully and thoroughly on occasion with shampoos/waxes ect.. and there are some other neighbors out with their buckets of water n fairly liquid doing a quick 10 min job, finishing off throwing a bucket of plain water over their car lol

Bought myself some Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish to try out

Do I need to apply wax over the top of this? Some say yes and some don't, I only have Poorboys Nattys Wax which I don't know if it would be suitable

Depends on the car as well, I'm not going to spend 4 hours cleaning my mk6 Fiesta :p

 :( Stop the discrimination! I vote to ban dacads. All cars are equal! They're all equal man!

Each to their own, personally whatever car and whatever age I own I want it to look the best it can. So every car I have own and will own will get the same amount of TLC.

It doesn't feel like 4 hours, time flies  That 4 hours is from start to finish, finish being applying tyre gel at the very end and packing away the pressure washer, hose and buckets etc.

Can easily take me a good 2 hours to do a full wash. Maybe just over an hour if I only give the wheels a quick once over.

4 hours seems a bit mad though. :p

All cars are so not equal, that's as daft as saying all people are equal :p:p

:D

How did you install this/put it together? Looks really good.

its all from screwfix.

and some ptfe tape.

can put a video together to show how to make up but its pretty simple.

only problem i have is water pressure in the garage is pretty bad and this makes it worse.

Definitely interested in that if you could do a video or a more in-depth description :)

I logged in to my Barclaycard online the other day, never noticed before I had 12,500 reward points, which translated into £35 of Amazon vouchers. That, combined with Amazon Prime Day means I now have a vacuum to clean out the car with...

...for only £25. Only given it a quick blast on the carpet, seems pretty good though.

Anyone know how long Swissvax lasts in its tub? Found some Best of Show wax whilst clearing out the garage, this stuff is at least 8 years old as its when they were still called Swissol. Would be good if I could still use it as I just ran out of my other wax and was about to reorder.

What polish do people recommend with a DA after wet sanding on BMW paint?

Meguiars ultimate?

I could easily spend 4 hours cleaning my car.
It only occurred to me recently that I've only seen someone else washing their car at home once or twice in living memory.
Then I realised that my neighbours must think I'm clinically insane.

You're my kind of people :D

Hi,

After a product recommendation. I've got a red Toyota MR2 that has badly faded under the sunlight. I've been given a machine polisher a year pr sp ago, but never had the confidence to use it. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/TecTake-Pol...d=1437079842&sr=8-3&keywords=TecTake+Polisher)

I obviously need to cut the paint and my usual Autoglym Super Resin polish wont quite do it when I've done it by hand.

What product would you recommend?
Which pad should I use for this? (Can see the pads on the Amazon link) It comes with different thickness pads as well as waffle ones.

Is this a good polish to use to cut the paint and remove the oxidation/fading? http://www.halfords.com/motoring-tr...o-polish-wax/meguiars-ultimate-compound-450ml

^^ yep, super resin polish will not cut the paint.

Having spent at least a whole Sunday scrubbing the inside of my exhaust pipes, my neighbours most definitely think I am insane. Especially given about 15-20 houses and apartments look over our parking spaces :p
