Did a nice long wash the other day. Couldn't believe it too 4 hours!
1. Hoover interior
2. Rinse and wash with shampoo
3. Clay with detailing mist
4. Wax
I guess the clay only needs to be done once or twice a year at least!
I could easily spend 4 hours cleaning my car.
It only occurred to me recently that I've only seen someone else washing their car at home once or twice in living memory.
Then I realised that my neighbours must think I'm clinically insane.
Same in my area, theres just one guy near me that has the same enthusiasm for detailing as myself. Have to put up with the usual jibes from neighbours like 'you can do mine next' or 'obviously have too much time on your hands' etc.. *yawn*Yup, I have noticed the same thing, I swear none of my neighbours ever wash their car!

True, I often get the really young kids pointing out the shiny car to their parents as they walk pastanother time a little kid pointed at the car to his mum and she goes to him "oooh!" or something like that.
Most recently a couple of lads walked past as I was drying off my alloys and I overheard one say "The wheels on that!", another time a little kid pointed at the car to his mum and she goes to him "oooh!" or something like that.

Does anyone have a good method for cleaning a soft-top hood? Mine has started to get a bit of the green stuff coming in and I wanted a good way of shifting it, any advice would be welcome!
I don't get that.![]()

I park and clean mine up out the way of the main road so not really comments as I'm cleaning. Out and about I get quite a few thumbs, nods, smiles etc and some who slam their brakes on to have a look...
^Lol, didn't give a thumbs up though? How rude!
Just last night I was in the car just after dusk, was doing some setting changes on the nav and had the door open, a man with his daughter and dog walk past and I recognise him as a regular dog walker on weekend mornings, I wave hello and hear him say to the daughter "he's a nice guy he is, cleans his car every other day" -
Every other day? Who does he think I am...![]()

I think it's pretty neat, some of the comments make your eyes roll and go "really?..." whereas most make it feel like your efforts were worth it![]()
Hi,
After a product recommendation. I've got a red Toyota MR2 that has badly faded under the sunlight. I've been given a machine polisher a year pr sp ago, but never had the confidence to use it. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/TecTake-Pol...d=1437079842&sr=8-3&keywords=TecTake+Polisher)
I obviously need to cut the paint and my usual Autoglym Super Resin polish wont quite do it when I've done it by hand.
What product would you recommend?
Which pad should I use for this? (Can see the pads on the Amazon link) It comes with different thickness pads as well as waffle ones.
Is this a good polish to use to cut the paint and remove the oxidation/fading? http://www.halfords.com/motoring-tr...o-polish-wax/meguiars-ultimate-compound-450ml
