I'd never let anyone wash my car unless I stood and watched them wash some cars first. When you see some people with a normal bucket and a SPONGE :eek:

I know, I'm normally the same but I didn't have an opportunity to clean it myself until this weekend and it had been stood for weeks and was thus covered in bird **** etc and I was concerned about it damaging the paint if it stayed on much longer.

Brave man  I explicitly ask Ford not to wash mine at services etc lol. I'm far too sad and anal about the condition of my paint. I'd never let a regular hand car wash person anywhere near it.

As for wheel cleaning, I never use products other than shampoo since mine get washed every week or two, but if you're cleaning wheels that are caked in brake dust then you need something beefy. If you use them all the time they can gradually affect the finish of the wheels though.

Didn't you ditch the F1AS2 because of that droning noise? Or did I dream that?

Was going to wash mine today, but it's due to rain heavily all week so thought **** it and went for a drive instead :p

I took them off my car in a fit of rage and refitted the original wheels. Then about 8 months later I put them back on again because, well, they look nice and what else am I going to do with them?

Get the wheel woolies. Honestly they are so much better than other brushes. Before I got them I had the meguiars one and there is no comparison.
hah knew I was going to get that. Guess I just have to get a set.

.
That's what freaking happened mine. Haven't touched my car in over a year just a hand wash every couple of weeks. Car went in for a service with ford they made a right pigs ear of the paint. Heavy swirls and think they put some sort crap wax on it and left it half buffed off.

Din't have time for a full wash just spent the last few nights polishing and waxing for the winter. I do the full cleanse in March.

I came close a few weeks ago being so busy with work - figured it was better to leave all of the mud on there though. Had it been bird ****, then I probably would have taken it to be washed.

I just use the wheel cleaners for brake dust mostly - much as I like to kid myself otherwise I don't really wash it that often.

Plus if they're reasonably clean bilberry and power washer means I don't even need to touch them with a brush - lazy man happy

I personally just use one of those noodle mitts and a cheap shampoo, works wonders but my alloys don't look amazing because they're due a refurb :p

Bilberry. Does the job perfect and it has to deal with a lot of heat and brake dust :D

I take the wheels off every 3 months of so and coat them too.
