Got the Golf cleaned.

Went over with a clay bar, then polished her. Bought the colour back and is really shiny now! :D

Although, there is still loads of scratches and dents it looks a million times better.

I've heard good things about magnifoam, I might give that one a go next..

Careful of it blocking your lance though, mate of mine uses only Magifoam and had to strip his lance down twice, usually ok if you run some hot water through it afterwards though

Collinite 476S - Super Doublecoat Auto Wax

This stuff...never has less is more been so true. Made the mistake of being generous with the application of this stuff. Took over an hour to buff it all off properly :(

Lol! I was going to warn you about that. My first tin lasted several years.
Also in the summer, don't apply it on a warm day unless its early morning or early evening because it bakes on. I usually have to leave the waxing for the next day.

Any recommendations for really absorbent microfibre cloths?

I'd like something to absorb moisture off the inside of the windscreen in the morning as opposed to just spreading it about!

It's a 2012 x-trail - although any car I own does the same on cold days. It's nothing more than condensation, I just don't like waiting for it to de-mist with the aircon as it's wasting sleepy time and fuel :p

Just ordered some Magifoam as it seems well recommended to see how well I can manage a touchless wash with it. Normally I just use my shampoo (currently Chemical Guys Mr. Pink) as a snow foam so interested to see how these dedicated snow foam mixes compare.

It shouldn't take more than a minute or two to clear with the aircon on!

Not even that. I have a heated windscreen which takes care of it in a few seconds but even if I use the 'max aircon and heat' option of the HVAC it sorts it out completely in like 10-20 seconds. Wiping the inside of the screen constantly is going to ensure it stays filthy and smeary.

Obviously you need a decent wax on the paint for it to be any good. Normally apply SRP with a DA with some poor boys sealant over the top. Will last all winter and I can do a 15 minute snow foam once a week.

Bloody love how good this Collinite 476S wax is. Best beading I've seen on a wax I've used. Car still looks as clean now as it did when I did it last weekend despite driving in all this rubbish weather

It was SRP (by hand) back in the summer then EGP over that. I've kept it topped up with Sonax Xtreme Brilliant Shine and the beading is still excellent. It's been a few weeks (and several thousand miles) though since its last wash so I'm not expecting miracles, but just something to keep the muck at bay without needing a full wash would be nice!

Guy's what should i be using after super resin polish? do i just wax it or do i need something else before the wax? finally once waxed, Is it ok to maintain it with just a quick detailer? ( car doesn't get used in the wet and doesn't do many miles )

After SRP you can use a wax or a sealant, or even both Some people prefer the look of one over the other. Sealants are generally longer lasting than waxes, but don't look the same. You can apply a wax over a sealant, but not the other way around. Maintaining with a quick detailer should be fine between full polishes/waxing.
