Snowfoams. Supposedly the best thing for cleaning cars? Right/wrong?

If it's right, what's the best VFM one? I don't have a huge budget, but I do already have a hose and pressure washer - not sure which is required :p

What's the difference between a sealant and a wax? Is either better or is it just personal preference and the fact sealants last longer?

A sealant is basically a synthetic product, and a wax basically a natural product.

Many people prefer the look that a wax gives, but they don't tend to be as hard wearing as a sealant. If you want the long lasting effects of a sealant but the look of a wax, then wax over the sealant.

They are good at lifting dirt and grime as a pre-wash, but I'm yet to try a "touchless" wash with snowfoam only.

For a proper snowfoam you need a pressure washer.

You'd need to buy a snowfoam lance with the fittings for your pressure washer.

Then you'd need some snowfoam. The best value for money one (imo) is ValetPro Advanced Neutral.

Just purchased some super resin polish and Dodo Juice Blue velvet i am a complete noob, any tips for applying the blue velvet? how do i know how much to use etc? I ordered the little 30ml pot.

Anyone recommend some good exhaust cleaning products?

I've used Autosol once on the A4 but it was a good few hours of bloody hard work for average results.

A liquid spray solution to clear the build up of gunk would be good. Anyone tried oven cleaner?

I find these type of scourers effective, but I'm not a perfectionist :) I assume you're just looking to clean up the tail pipes.

Basically wire wool with soap inside :p

Autoglym engine degreaser or clean wheels worked well on mine. Along with a drill and some of the red conical scouring pad attachments off eBay.

Keep in mind that wire wool if not the right grade will scratch and ruin any polished surfaces.

I'll check this out, cheers!
How dirty are they? Mine are shiny within seconds with only the odd bit of pitting which is only noticable if actually inspecting them lol
Black is the only way to describe them. The crap that comes out of these TFSI engine exhausts is unreal.

What hoovers does everyone use to clean the inside of their car?

I wanted one of the cordless Dysons for the house, but would coincidentally be handy to do the car with too. Dad doesn't want one because it's a lot of money for 15mins runtime.

Does anyone use any alternatives?

I used to use our normal household hoover but between getting the extension cable, dragging the hoover outside and then it has to stay outside the car while you're trying to clean and stretch over and ours would knock against the car or fall over I just figured there must be an easier way.
