+ code DAS6GROUPBUY gets you a good one for £100, you know you want to! :p

As a time saver this must be worth getting! Fab reviews and not too expensive but warranty of 1 year is a bit limited - are there better brands which don't cost hundreds more? Has anyone got recommendations for pads and anything else I might need to get with it? I would propose to use it for polish, sealant and wax. Can it be used on bumpers (have a scuff on the from bumper of my wife's car)?

I found a useful guide here which may be of use - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=63859

The DAS 6 pro is great, very well liked in the detailing world. I don't think there is much worth considering around the price (that isn't a rotary).

For a good starting point you could try the Megs #105 and #205 combination with these pads http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/lake-country-140mm-rotary-ht-pads.html and you should be set to tackle a good set of jobs. Don't forget a panel wipe spray (I like CarPro Eraser and Gyeon surface prep), some good quality microfibres (I like the CarPro BOA) and some masking tape.

For your bumpers (assuming you mean painted) you will probably need to wet stand / touch up and then polish the paint up after depending on how bad it is.

I'd highly recommend this youtube series, he knows his stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP-eAddv2sk

Recently started using the cheap £1 matte dashboard spray on my tyre walls and it's been great. Get the stuff with UV protection and all is well.

No more dedicated tyre gel products needed. The above was applied 2 days ago and I've driven in rain since. I did wipe the wall down with a shoe brush post application to remove any gloss and spread the product around.

need some help.

took my stripes off the car finally. looks 100x better, however now I am left with the ghosting.

as tips for making it less obvious/removing the ghosting? I don't have a machine polisher

Polish by hand. Need to go over it a number of times

Can anyone advice. Would Sonax BSD be any good top of Prima Amigo?

It is enough if you drive in the rain. In dry weather any gel or spray should easily last weeks. I've yet to see a dedicated tyre gel that lasts a full week without going dull from being driven in the rain.

Gyeon Q2 Tire (sic) impressed me and lasted a fair while, it's not cheap but worth trying :)

Ordered myself a whole load of stuff today from cleanyourcar, so thanks for the advice over the last week. I'm hoping I get time this weekend to try it all out :D Haven't bought a machine polisher yet, decided to try things by hand first off.

Watched some great videos on youtube last night by AmmoNYC - https://www.youtube.com/user/AMMONYCdotcom. This guy really seems to know his stuff and is very pedantic, which I think helps to give all the advice and you can then pick and choose what works for you.

Is it OK to clay the painted bumpers on the car or just the metalwork and glass?

I like his videos too for the same reasons.

It's fine to clay any part of the car (paint, glass, etc), just ensure that the area is well lubricated, whether it's with water or quick detailer.

Make sure to turn the clay and refold regularly as it picks up contaminants, and if you drop it on the ground throw it away.

Sonax BSD is an amazing product, but it's extremely thick, takes some shine away however it literally gives an instant wax like protection.

If you want to see some crazy stuff check out their spray on wax.
