I replied because I read the post, I obviously wasn't reading the thread when they posted so I didn't reply.

Spray and Shine will do exactly what you want at a 10th of the price - the bonus being its so cheap you can spray it liberally after a wash too!

Where can you actually buy Astonish for 99p / £1 though? Poundland?

When the dealership says they'll valet your car before delivery, I wasn't expecting miracles but this took the ****

Under the front seats was just as bad!

The car was a state originally and I knew I'd be giving it a full going over anyway so the worst they could do is make my job slightly easier, was expecting better than I got however.

The farecla clay mitt is good, I think a bar of clay would be better for small details/areas but the mitt chews through crap really well. I just used it with soapy water and kept rinsing the mitt, my paint has never been so clean.

Tell you what doesn't last though - 10 quid quick detailer. Seriously, it's a massive waste of money.

QD is fantastic stuff and as a result you'll use a LOT of it - very expensive at 10 quid a go for just 750ml!!

If you must have a branded QD then at least buy in bulk - you can buy 3.8 litres for about 20 quid - or better still use Astonish Spray and Shine. It does exactly the same thing but it costs 99p instead of £10 so its 10 times cheaper.

I always buy about 10 of them whenever I see them and as result I've always got loads of it and I can use it constantly without thinking about what it costs.

Spending 10 quid on QuickDetailer has 'mug' written all over it I'm afraid - I'm all for buying the right branded stuff when it matters and when it'll last - ie waxes, polishes etc, but not for QD.

I buy Chemical Guys Speed Wipe in 'bulk' because I've tried so many and I prefer this one - a combination of ease of use, shine afterwards, and prolonging wax life, as well as it lasting a long time.

I don't get through it that fast at all - you shouldn't need to use "a lot" just to do a final cleanup of the panels after a wash. Certainly don't use it to lubricate the clay mitt - you might as well pour a bottle straight onto the paintwork :p

Will clay remove the black/orange tar spots you get? My wheel arches and sills/lower doors are covered in them and using Intense Tar Remover takes to much effort for me.

I'd love to give my car a proper wash but it's just too much for my elbows.

There is just too much of it though. Would a clay bar make much easier work of it?

I have to pick and choose what gets done on the car now as I can't do everything without being crippled for the weekend.

Get some Autosmart Tardis. Spray it liberally around the areas with tar, and let it sit for a moment. They'll practically fall off.

Autosmart Rep. You could buy it off eBay but you run the risk or either 1) it is not what you are buying or 2) it is watered down. I got 5 litres of the stuff from my Autosmart Rep for £15 2 years ago, and I am still on that container.

To find your rep, email [email protected] with the first part of your postcode. Don't forget to inform your bank that you might be spending a lot of money. I went just for Tardis, and came out with Tardis, G101, Smart Wheels, Autowash, Fallout Remover, Glass Clear and some spray bottles :(

I'm going to get some spray bottles for the Intense Tar Remover as I have a load left I'd rather not waste. It will be much easier to apply by just spraying the area instead of having to either pour out rub it on.

If it still doesn't seem to get anything of I'll change product.
