Quick question, what do people use for cleaning off white polish marks from black plastic bodywork trim? Is there a product or some kind of trick to it?

Also has anyone tried Triplewax Fast Wax? Seems worth a shot at £3.50 for a bottle.

It's what I use after using super resin polish.

I was thinking it couldn't hurt, nice extra layer on top of super resin.

I still find Sonax Xtreme Detailer spray one of the best sealants I've ever used. It's longevity is outstanding and you simply spray on and wipe off.

It's not a sealant though, it's a quick detailer. For what it is it does last well, but it's not in the realm of sealants for longevity.

If you were comparing single layer, with single layer then yes. However, since it is so quick and easy to apply, it can be layered up 5 or 6 times in the time it'd take to layer one round of sealant. Not to mention that a bottle of this stuff is £6 from ECP and will do the car 20-30 times (?), whereas a good sealant is £15-20.

It literally takes me 10 minutes to do the entire car and I apply it every time I wash it to keep it topped up. I've got numerous excellent sealants, waxes and glazes and I can say that I haven't used any of these since I got the Sonax. My girlfriend never washes her car, but after 2 months of a single application being applied to rough paintwork - the beading is still very evident.

I agree with you 100% that it's an excellent product (I also use it in a very similar fashion to you), just please don't call it a sealant! :)

I use mine sprayed on to my damp microfibre drying towel as it helps to prevent streaks, then once the car is dry I'll go over it all with a quick spray or two directly on to each panel then buffed to a shine. This is on top of a SRP/EGP polish/sealant combo.

I use a toothbrush and strong APC to slowly agitate it out of the plastic.

I might be able to use a hose if I can get away with driving the car down some grass to the house, (I'm in a set back bunglaow).

I'm trying to finalise what to get to start me off.

Is there anything I can grab from local shops and not online?

So for washing..
Kent Q2429 2-in-1 Microfibre Noodle Wash Mitt
Kent Q6100 Extra Large Microfibre Drying Towel
Scratch Shield Bucket Filter System BLACK

The above are a buy together deal on amazon totalling £15
Just need to finalise the shampoo. Meguires Hyperwash seems to be a good one?

Is the above a good start?

The gtechniq stuff I've got on my wishlist but may come to that next.

I may need a bucket! I've got one but no doubt is too small for the guard ha

David, surely you can just get a longer hose to avoid having to move the car closer tothe house?

I've got a long hose but it's still a stretch!

The hose is used for rinsing right? I'd shampoo with a bucket first. What's a good starting shampoo? I only wanna give it a basic wash and see how it goes.

Just get another hose and an extension adaptor. Easy!

You'd use the hose to wet everything down first to soften up the dirt and get the worst bits off, and then again to rinse. You can also get foam guns that work with a regular hose, and they're quite nice but don't create anything like a snow foam from a proper lance / pressure washer combo, like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wo-Wo-Professional-Washing-Adjustable-Sprayer/dp/B00SCB2M4Q

They're actually quite nice to have as you can use it as you wash to spray soapy foam as you wipe over the car, which keeps the bodywork nicely lubricated and rinses off any heavy stuff as you go.

As for shampoo all of the Megs stuff is pretty decent AFAIK and easy to get.

Is this the same as above?

Because the one linked by Armageus says conditioner?

So in my basket I have,
Kent Q6100 Extra Large Microfibre Drying Towel
Kent Q2429 2-in-1 Microfibre Noodle Wash Mitt
Scratch Shield Bucket Filter System BLACK
And when confirmed one of the above Autogylm shampoos

How's that for a start? I'm not 100% the guard will fit in the bucket here though. So any suggestions for a bucket that won't break the bank would be good...
Sounds very odd to be asking for suggestions for a bucket!!

Cheers for y'all help
