A few days booked off work next week so it will be getting a thorough machine polish (not that it really needs it but the black inserts are getting dull)

I've spent what feels like all weekend cleaning the car. I bought it a few weeks ago and the paint was full of swirls, etc so I thought I'd have a crack at fixing it all. I went with all Meguair's products - Wash & Wax, Clay Kit, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, Ultimate Liquid Wax.

I can't believe how well it's turned out considering I did it by hand. I'll be doing the other car once we get the big paint dings sorted. I'll post some pics when I get it out in the sun.

I need to give the wheels a proper clean, there are some marks on them that I can't budge. It looks like brake dust but it's welded on there (pic). I've heard that wheel cleaners can damage the finish on some wheels so I don't really want to risk it. Any ideas what I could use?

Just find a non acidic Wheel Cleaner. If your really concerned find one which you can dilute with water but imo you won't having any issues using Wheel Cleaner on those wheels.

They usually advise not using Wheel Cleaner on chrome wheels etc as it can affect the finish.

Personally I use Sonax Wheel Cleaner but have just ordered some Bilberry to try. A pressure washer is a must have.

Has anyone found a way of stopping cats from jumping up onto their cars and leaving muddy pawprints (and scratches on the bonnet as they try and find grip..)?

Currently have that same problem. That and they like to pee on one of my exhausts for some reason.

Good job I washed it yesterday.. Yay for living by the sea!

Noticed a bunch of new scratches on the rear corner, can only assume I reversed into a bush but don't remember doing it

Need to do a top up order to get the car tidy again this week at some point.

Snowfoam - I'm gonna go magifoam I think or anything better? The last stuff I got was just runny and slid straight off

Iron remover - I had AB purple rain last and it was great but may try iron X or Autofinesse, again any one recommendations?

Wheel cleaner - I've tried so many of these at this point, although I think I've saved getting the best till last, I'm thinking either sonax or boots hamper. Which would you guys say is better?

Last one is some more shampoo polished off the last of my autoglym not sure what else to try.

Also I will likely get a new mitt. Currently got some cheap noodle from b and q cause last time I washed mid wash my megs lambs wool fell apart.... again.
