anyone has any idea what this is ? it's orange/glue/tree sap looking thing, completely solid and hard.

I've tried tar remover, bug remover, alcohol, scrubbing etc nothing moves it.

it's right at the door line at the the bottom, there are no marks or any dripping anywhere left it's just there! it's so hard to see that it took me 3 weeks after buying the car to spot it. But now that I know it's there, I can see it every time and it's bugging me! can see it from the outside too over the panel gap if you look close enough..

what can I try next? glue remover(wouldn't that damage the paint?) any ideas/experience ?

There was no images for me either until I realised Google DNS servers are playing up tonight.

Looks like whatever it is, it's behind the lacquer?

So going to go with Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover, as 20% off at Halfords.

Is there Supersoft Giant Drying Towel any good?

Also need to grab some applicator pads to use with tyre dressing.

No image for me bud

weird, worked fine for me :) must be the google dns then! as I don't use it.

it's on top of the laquer and it's on the sideskirt, I can hardly stick my finger in there thats how little space there is .

It looks like some sort of epoxy or glass resin.

see that's what I thought but then the skirts are original and have no cracks etc so I'm confused as to why that would be there, there's literally 1cm of space between the door and side skirt at that part so I'm confused as to how it got there in the first place and how to approach it when it comes to cleaning.

half tempted to take the skirt off for easier access but it's a faf on the z4

Going to give it a go tomorrow and see how that goes, hopefully i can scrape it off with a plastic trim removal tool. Should be able to polish out the scratches anyway, not that it's visible really!

Cheapest place for best quality microfibre cloths? I had a load of meguiars but they're a bit tatty now and over priced.

Also, what orbital polishers are people using? I only want a cheap one (I'll be careful!)

I pick them up in big packs from halfords or poundland, ten for a penny.

Having received / purchased "premium" brand microfibres, they dont do the job any better, and when ive brought them in bulk packs for nothing I don't have issues using them and throwing them away if needed.

As for an orbital, the first one I got was this: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/4645777

Did the job great for the money.

Just got some kirkland ultra plush micro fibres from ebay really nice pile on them were £21 for 36 cloths so 55p each

Das 6 v2 for only a bit more than that Argos job above.

The actual polishers are not that expensive but the price of all the extras you need bumps up the initial outlay.
