Used some Menzerna IP yesterday, what a fantastic polish, took out some many imperfections out of my bonnet, highly reccomended:)

Pity my bonnet has more ****ing stonechips than there are stones in the whole world, so that was a waste of an expensive polish:p

I've already got two buckets + microfibre mitt. Can only really use a hose at the moment (problem with water pressure on outside tap so jet wash doesnt really work)

I have the following on my list to buy

Wheels
Bilberry for cleaning
FK1000 for protection and hopefully easy cleaning in the future.
Need a alloy brush so what would you recommend?

Car
I have some autoglym car shampoo + 2 buckets and microfibre wash mitt.
Polish/Wax not sure - its atlas grey, whats fairly easy to apply by hand but offers good results?
Is Blackfire Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax any good?

Roof
Is 303 cleaner and fabric guard the best for softtops?

Interior
Grey leather mostly so what would you recommend.

Any other recommendations? The wheels are a bit of a nightmare to clean at the moment so I want to get them really cleaned and then protected which should hopefully make them easier to clean in the future.

Thanks

I would recommend the Vikan wheel brush or the EZ detail brush if you want to spend more. Can't really get better than them 2! Also bilberry should clean your wheels up nicely. Use it in a 1:1 mixture. I seen it clean wheels that look like there past cleaning!

Anyone wana help me?

I need to clean the outside so need shampoo and wax.. Do i use polish too? Do i do that before waxing?

What does the wax actually do?

As for the interior, what should i do with the dash and everything? What Autoglym stuff can i use?

Let me know,

Cheers

James.

Can anyone recommend some basics to me?

I wash my A3 reasonably regularly, but would like to do it a bit better. I have a chamoise, 2 buckets and some (old, cheap-ish) wax.

What products should I spend my money on if I decided to use about £30/40 or so?

First of all, ditch the chamoise and get some decent MF cloths and a lambs wool wash mit. Then I'd recommend some Meguires gold class shampoo, Autoglym Super Resin Polish and some Collinite 476s wax.

I got some Bilberry wheel cleaner through SoliD the other day and it's pretty intense, cleans the wheels to a nice shine quickly and painlessly. Also the snow foam is cool, just need a lance to do it properly :D

All you need really is:

--In order of application--

> 2 buckets (£2 !)
> A decent shampoo (£3-£5 for a large tub of Triplewax)
> A decent washmit, not a sponge!! (£5)
> A hose or pressure washer (I would recommend the Nilfisk 110.3 after buying one recently after it was recommended to me) (£39)
> A Microfibre drying towel (£5-£10)
> A polish, Autoglym super resin polish for example (£9)
> A sealant or wax overcoat, Autoglym extra gloss protection for example (£9)
> An alloy wheel seal wax or spray, Autoglym Alloy Wheel Seal for example (£5)

All that will cost you around £80 but consider this a long term investment. The SRP and EGP will last you at least a year, the shampoo the same and the pressure washer while cheap, is better than competing brands that cost almost double and can be used around the house too but if you have a pressure washer or decent hose already then you saved £39 :)
