Thanks chaps. As for the black baron, it's quite expensive for what it is, i'd rather just get a compressor and use the airline to get rid of the water.

Not a cloud in the sky today so I got the old super resin out and cleaned away the winter scratches and scraps.

Any-one recognise the location? From a recent famous film.

They are such terrible photos its hard to see what you've done. You can barely even tell what colour it is in the last one.

Last one was more for the people that want to guess the location, from the heart im truly sorry they dont meet your standards, I will go back out and take some more this instant

Washed my car the other day for the first time since I had a proper go at it with posh stuff. First time round I used Chemical Guys Maxi Suds, Megs swirl remover with a hand applicator thingy, then waxed it with 476s (didn't bother with polish as it looked plenty nice enough after the swirl remover went on by hand, and the day was closing in).

Just a wash the other day and honestly I'm impressed by how nice the wax keeps it. Next time it gets a bit more of a finishing polish, I may invest in a paint cleanser to get done before the 476s and I want to do it so I have enough time for two goes over with 476s.

Any opinions on whether a sealant's worth it? I'm not sure I'm really understanding what a sealant does? How's it different to a wax? Is it worth doing it?

Other question... how do I get the prior coat of wax off properly? I assume it'll be as good as gone anyway, but how do you make sure it's gone before polishing, sealing and waxing again? Or do you even need to?

Loowi - just change the white balance in those photos and ignore the people who'd rather concentrate on the photo rather than the car. It looks like there was a real sodium light source and so it was always going to be very difficult unless you got the white balance right at the time of shooting

If you have waxed it, you don't need to use a sealant. They both do the same job, one is a natural product (wax) and the other is synthetic (sealant). Sealants are also liquid so can be very easy to apply and also suit lighter coloured cars, especially light metallic paints. I used EGP sealant on mine because i've got tons left in the garage still. Waxes/sealants do not make the big difference when it comes to the presentation of the car, it's the preparation before hand, so when choosing one, just go for one that offers good durability/easy to use.
